Street Fighter 6: Graphics comparison Switch 2 vs other consoles. Direct feed footage

Anyone using this as a baseline for total system performance is going to be very disappointed.

10x more powerful than a Switch puts it at 4 TFLOPS… or just under a PS4 Pro…

I don’t think that’s impressive at all. If it wasn’t a portable hybrid and just a docked system it’d be overpriced crap.

Screenshots and videos, compression, and upscaling should be taken with a grain of salt.

The fact that we're literally spitting hairs when comparing the Switch 2 and PS5 versions says a lot about just how wildly the SW2 is beating expectations here. Borderline unbelievable.
Yup. Love to see it. And we all know the hate-bandwagon people are going to buy the console anyway. In the end, Nintendo don’t do any ports, so people are wasting negative energy for no reason. I mean is the plan to skip playing their games? Have fun with that lol

That's not the same picture at all, since the PS5 has depth of field and the Switch 2 doesn't. If somebody can't see that, then it's probably time for a visit to their ophthalmologist.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Despite lacking DoF completely, that's some pretty impressive output on Switch 2's behalf.

Will be interesting seeing comparisons of more intensive games like Cyberpunk. A vs fighter is generally going to be lighter on resources comparatively.

Not sure if this is the right game for a comparisom, but Switch 2 vs PS5 looks impressive.

Certain compromises on Switch are a given, but tbh, visually differences between both versions are pretty negligible.

Actually looks better than I was expecting
Agreed.

However, the way older games look on this system at launch is not really important from my pov (limited number of titles). Future games will look and run like absolute ass and we all know it. That's where my hate for the first Switch came from. Nintendo just continues on this path.

This makes me wonder if the Series S port of this game just fucking sucks. It seems unusually blurry and low resolution to me.
No need to ask, the XSS port of SF6 was miserable. Even more miserable when you see how ports of the most powerful and demanding fighting games like TEKKEN 8 and MK1 (also with UE5) were exceptional in XSS.

Regarding the Switch 2, I'm definitely pleasantly surprised by the results in that comparison. The thing is, the results are quite different in other games shown, and I'd rather see what the results are like in the final games.

99% of far away shots the ps5 has a clear edge with added sharpness and visual effects, but then you have these close up shots… weird? Weird

Texture seem to be noticeably better on the right, but I do not think I will take this source (El Analista del bits) with less than a truckload of salt in favour of one or the other console.

I suppose the official line on here going forward is that any multi-platform game on the S2 that stands up to the almighty Playstation versions was shit in the first place 🙄
We will see how the comparisons will shake up once done properly, but a portable console docked reaching even in the same neighbourhood of a console not designed to be portable at all and consuming much more power is an achievement regardless of how close it matches it. No need for people to make shit up for console warring purposes. It is a bit hilarious seeing the more hardcore N fans going from “graphics and cost do not matter, fun does, we do not play specs” to “OMG graphics Rox yes yes” when they think it is better than Series S, etc… very adaptable ;).

As long as the analysis does not try to gaslight people (framerate is super important for fast moving games, but DOOM Eternal on OG Switch at 30 FPS with major res drops too is just fine) it is all good 😊.

Well, they upped the power above 40w as I just realized today... But yeah, feels like between current and last gen settings with DLSS lifting the IQ above current gen consoles... Not sure and I need confirm but would be hilarious to see that being the case
There is a reason why Sony decided to invest their money to do HW customisations and push AMD into what became PSSR and FSR4, they do know it is a must must must must have for them to close the gap with DLSS or shorten it at least.

I watched a video on YouTube from cvg and they said u can see a difference in lower quality to pc , ps5 which is bound to happen , but said during gameplay u don’t notice and its good, people surely not expecting the switch to look as good as ps5 , considering for me at home I’d be playing pc the switch version for me will be playing in handheld

That Series S comparison

Interested Ooo GIF by reactionseditor

Buckle up folks. Gonna be a fucking wild ride. The little console that could.

honestly, I could see many Switch 2 docked versions of games turning out to look better than Series S versions.
not due to the hardware, but due to developer neglect of the Series S.

Wild Hearts will be an interesting one to keep an eye on in this regard, because that game's Series S version was clearly neglected to an extreme degree, while the few snippets we saw of the Switch 2 version looked decent.

however, the Series S could benefit long-term from the existence of the Switch 2 as developers can use the optimisations done for Switch 2 to also be utilised on Series S

Just looks like a sharper image due to DLSS whats all the fuzz about in this thread ?

this seems to be without DLSS.

Street Fighter 6 on PC has no reconstruction options, and in the videos we have there's no real evidence for it being used on Switch 2 either.
the Antialiasing method looks in line with the other versions

This is not even using DLSS. You can see it on Chun-Li's cheek, it's pretty aliasing. If it was using DLSS or any form of TAAU, it wouldn't look like that.

Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2 apparently has lower input lag than PS5 according to someone who plays the game competitively on PS5 and PC.

this could mean that they finally fixed their system wide controller latency of the Switch 1, that impacted especially Splatoon pretty negatively. this could mean a higher polling rate more in line with the Wii U than the Switch 1.

would be nice, because especially on a system with an exclusive title that relies heavily on gyro aiming, the increased lag due to the lower gyro polling was really annoying... especially in Splatoon 2/3

Using SF6 to do a comparison vs Series S is meaningless, since Capcom pretty much half assed the Series S version.

DF analysis summary from adamsapple adamsapple here
Essentially, they copy pasted the PS4 version to Series S, with even worse textures than the base PS4 in some instances.

Switch 2 should certainly be inferior to the PS4 Pro even when docked, and in turn visibly weaker than the Series S. Elden Ring and Cyberpunk have 60fps modes on Series S, for example, and are capped at 30 or 40fps on Switch 2.

That said, the console is a powerhouse. It should visibly eclipse the Deck in performance, and games will be optimized against it in comparison with the deck.

As I’ve said multiple times, this will pretty much get nearly every third party game out there, when everyone has their devkits.

Not at all. I love playing single player. Thats why systems like the Switch beat the portal for portability. I can take the Switch 2 and play anywhere. Can't do that with the portal.

Are you sure about that?

Yeah, single player SF6 on the SW2 may be a better use for it. I mean who are you going to play versus with, 8 year olds? lmao

Lol. I'm not getting a Switch 2 with Nintendo's crazy game prices. They can gargle on my unwashed nuts.

However, I can't deny it's an impressive system and would be a far better portable experience than the PS Portal.
