From all the reports read so far on Switch 2 perf it is in between PS4 and PS4 Pro with some PS5-like niceties inbetween.

Yakuza 0 without DLSS surpass Xbox One X

I think it’s well proven now docked mode is beyond the last gen Pro consoles

It’s located in neatly in cross gen as you say. Might have less troubles than Series S because of 12GB VRAM and DLSS vs base console FSR pixel soup.

Of the current-gen, I think comparisons with Series S will be the best.

All in all, decent little machine.

Never expected for a game to surpass series S to be honest in all my predictions.

Very surprising. I underestimated the dock performance clearly. Maybe even T239 rumours are completely outdated and we don’t have the right numbers. Seems dev kits are late to the party so T239 being rumored to be in dev kits for years now could be that the final chipset is not even that.

Not even the 1.3GHz (AGX Orin max clock) T239 would explain this difference we see from the calculated values. We’re missing something.

You buy a Portal. PS5 + Portal is still cheaper

My guess, if we have to be honest? Max clocks from AGX Orin and overall Nvidia's closed environment, we have never seen Ampere properly at its peak in computers. Lovelace is even more untapped, DX12 has been proven to suck.

True

NVapi is close to metal. We’ve never seen the modern nvidia architecture without the bloat of PC API and drivers, nor their architecture communicating so close to the CPU, as PC as to go through this fucking old x86 architecture.

Dev kits also probably heavily suggest to use mesh shaders. Removing need to go back in system memory all the time for geometry.

Nvidia software is king and NVAPI likely interfaces with nvidia’s SDKs seamlessly.

Many SW cartridges are fake physical media. Doesn't matter, the PS5 is still better value, way cheaper games. Elden was $20 physical the other day, how much on SW2 when it releases? You'll be paying full price for old games, just like SF6, and with no discount deal in sight.
ooo you're a real badass! Sorry there wasn't anything you could do against that. Have fun playing with Timmy, Danny and Lilly, your little nephew's friends.

And people wanting a real fight won't be playing with Timmy, Danny, Lilly and your nephew and you on a SW2.
I see the kiddie label has returned. Say that when dormitories in colleges are flooded with Switch 2s and Maddens. EA's gonna open up a whole new can of whoop-ass.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2 apparently has lower input lag than PS5 according to someone who plays the game competitively on PS5 and PC.

this could mean that they finally fixed their system wide controller latency of the Switch 1, that impacted especially Splatoon pretty negatively. this could mean a higher polling rate more in line with the Wii U than the Switch 1.

would be nice, because especially on a system with an exclusive title that relies heavily on gyro aiming, the increased lag due to the lower gyro polling was really annoying... especially in Splatoon 2/3

So less input lag and pretty much no graphics compromise would mean Switch 2 version is better than PS5 version then

The kiddie label never left. But no worries, this time there will be a lot less kids playing on it as most parents will choose other options.

Kind of like with that failure of a system known as Switch, right? That little system that wiped the floor with the PS4 and sent the Xbox Series into relative obscurity (with Sony's help on the latter, of course)? Some morons can't see the true value of sending Timmy elsewhere when the game's coming on, and little Timmy won't lose a beat.

I wonder how that will impact the fighting events where input lag is critical.

Time will tell.

PS Portal only makes sense if you're using it at home or somewhere with a stable connection.

When Sony release a hybrid or dedicated portable then we can compare the two. Until then the Switch 2 is miles ahead of the Portal. Miles.

It will be shocking if Sony releases a hybrid or dedicated portable, considering the massive failure of Vita.

No. Kinda like when the 3DS didn't catch the same lightning in a bottle coming off DS with over 150 million sold and Nintendo overpriced it. Now it's actually much worse because also the games are way overpriced and there's also more competition in the handheld space. Kinda like that.

There is no competition in the handheld space LMAO. Handheld PCs are the very definition of niche. The Portal is an accessory. These are some really weak arguments.

they are sponsored by Sony, so the official tournaments are held on PS5.

this has lead to some issues in the past when they used FAT PS5's, because those get so hot that USB cables of arcade sticks melted as the back USB port is right next to the exhaust.

if they went for the lowest latency they would need to play on PC
