a 4090 runs better than a much cheaper console, news at 11

not a dramatic difference either way that's going to make me say "damn, I wish I had moved over to PC" because of it. especially given the state of bugs/stutters on seemingly every release these days. thank god I just play the game and it works

To each their own, for sure. I think high-end PCs and Pro consoles each have their place in the gaming spectrum. Just depends on what type of consumer you are.

Even with a bugged PC launch, it's crazy how much worse PS5 Pro handle's image clarity, reflections, and shadows compared to PC:

Cause the Pro is literally just an upscaler, it adds no meaningful raster improvement and what little it does is spent on the upscaling process. It's the worst product Sony has ever released.

It's posts like this that make me laugh. Important to remember they are using a 5090 for comparison. Not to mention there are key elements that the PC version is missing, such as the RT Key Light Shadows and certain texture issues, and pop-in PC players have been complaining about.

Even in the screenshot I used to praise the PC RT reflections, you can see that the suspension cables are not properly reflected in comparison to PS5 Pro. Only a goofus would claim the PC version is leaps and bounds better than PS5/Pro, especially in the current state.

Some nice improvements for people who have adequate specs.

Not just IQ, but shadow cascade and draw distance and quality in reflections is notably better.

Dude, look at the fidelity on the towers reflection on pc compared to ps5 pro. It's a huge difference.

You don't need a 5090 though. Even a 4080 runs this game maxed out/RT/4K DLSS Quality at 60+ fps.

And like I said in my post you quoted, there's issues with the game on PC right now but it still blows the PS5 Pro version away in regards to reflections, shadows, and image clarity.

How can it be "blowing PS5 Pro version away" in features you mentioned (shadows) when they are flat out missing? Wait until we see the extent these issues are fixed and then make the statements. Otherwise, you're not operating on observable facts.

I'm talking about local shadows as shown in the screenshots provided. Check those for your observable facts.

But yes, key light shadows are bugged and the game is pretty rough right now on PC until they iron the issues out.
