they dont have to outsell sony or nintendo, just be competitive. they did it to themselves and the reason why xbox is doing bad, its all on them. this isnt a strategy, its them giving up but MS ego is too big for them to outright give up and do it on some side ways type of way.
You're right. They did. They missed the mark with Xbox One and never recovered.

But I disagree that this isn't a strategy. They've realized that they're going to be more successful selling content than selling a console, so they're leaning into that. And it's not like this is a sudden new direction. They've been going, or at least exploring, this direction for a while now. It's why they spent $70b buying one of the largest publishers around.

Only retards are unable to grasp this, and I don't believe for a second that @Heisenberg007 can't figure it out. He's not that stupid. No one has ignored the console. The console sales are bombing and it's been documented in every sales thread on here weekly in multiple regions for years. They are pivoting to marketing the app and salvaging the brand since Xbox is a 20 year brand. Everyone with even a tiny brain can figure this out if they're trying.
Console sales haven't been bombing for all consoles and to say otherwise is being a bit disingenuous but that's not really important since this [thread] isn't about that. Having said that, I think most people understand what MS is doing here. They are just questioning if it will actually work. Some are saying it clearly while others are simply poking fun at it. How it plays out in the long run, remains to be seen.

If that was the case they wouldn't put hardware out still.

Next up: EA advertising that every electronic is an EA device! Not to be outdone, T2 will start a morning radio show so your alarm clock will be a T2 device!

I get what they were trying to do, but execution wasnt great

And it's still to early for cloud gaming for the masses. Are they dumb?

This is literally exactly what PS is going to be doing too so I hope everyone on here admits how much of a hypocrite they are when that happens.

No, even if they develop an app for all these same devices, you will never see Sony advertise that all these devices are "Playstations." They value their console identity, would never want to dilute it this way.

I'm not claiming they will have the exact same marketing campaign. I'm claiming they will have an app that loads the Sony ecosystem on multiple devices and cloud. It's pretty obvious.

This is how Satya officially changes the rules on Xbox engagement to ensure his KPIs are always met so he gets those bonuses.

I'm not the target audience, not really sure who is to be honest.

Did Microsoft get permission to show those other products in their advertising? What if they don't want to be associated with Xbox?
