I also said I play primarily retro games and never owned an xbox. how does it not make sense why I would buy an xbox?
also you make it sound like my PC is a 90s calculator or something. my laptop can even play them at an adequate level. my laptop is a Zephyrus g16 which is slightly slower than my PC, both of which are plenty fast for the sort of games I clearly said I play, which are older titles.
but fuck dude, my g16 can play brand spanking new titles and they still look great

I have also indicated several times that Ultima Online is my favorite game of all time
both are PC games btw (d2r has a console release, but D2 was out for +20 years before that. and I've been playing it since it released)

There have been a ton of threads here where PC gaming is discussed. Both from the point of view where hardware is being discussed, and also from a software point of view (game performance, emulation, etc), and I've never seen you participate.
Where I do see you participate - console related threads (you're in one now). Yet you claim to be a PC gamer - it doesn't correlate.
I don't care whether or not you participate in PC related threads, and frankly based on this exchange I'd rather you didn't. But if you're going to claim something and then call people "idiots" then you should at the very least practice what you preach.
By the way, what's "weird" is calling other people "idiots" for doing precisely what you've done - opt to spend money on a console instead of on a PC.

Year 25 through 27 for GTAVI, TESVI, The Witcher IV. Sony surly don't wanna mess with hit titles from 3rd party publishers cause their expensive games actually aren't meant to be second tier even when they do look and feel second tier.

If you want a machine to sit under your TV, the options are between a PlayStation that does exactly what it says it does on the tin and a brand that can't commit to exactly what it is it actually even sells. I agree and what you are saying highlights the point that Sony and Nintendo are really not in competition. If they truly were then Nintendo wouldn't dare push prices up to as much as $90 a game. Both have popular products and no real competition in their respective space. They can get away with pretty much whatever they want and not care what anyone thinks.

Sony is releasing a handheld as well. If it's not a PC hybrid I think they will lose out on an opportunity. Switch 2 will be in full force boasting what seems to be a lot more 3rd party support. I think while Sony doesn't absolutely need to pivot, I think they should. Xbox is pivoting and I feel like if Sony doesn't meet them in the space they allow Xbox to distinguish themselves as they have been promising to do. Whether this means Xbox gets more sales in the handheld space really depends on how innovative Xbox ends up being. But Sony creating an offer that matches or exceeds what Xbox is doing and maybe releasing in late 2026 would definitely put a damper on whatever sales Xbox would get.

They are at the top. And will remain at the top. Especially now that MS has gone third party and Nintendo is literally 5 years late to the party.
Switch 2 is $450-$500.

They can carve out their position in stone with the PS6, if they play it right.
- 600 dollar console in 2028 or even 2029 that's sufficiently more powerful than the PS5 Pro
- Reform studios in terms of personnel, costs, return to healthy levels of crunch if need be
- Regulate stupid/unappealing creative decisions
- No more PC ports - all PlayStation assets should be solely focused on benefitting the PS platform
- Separate studios on a SP or MP basis. ND, SSM, Insomniac, Guerilla and Bluepoint should never make MP titles
- Curate the store - return to early PS4/late PS3 policy. The PS store should not be a dumping ground for trash. Best AAA and indie games only

They are sitting as good as anyone. It was a long battle with MS and came out on top. MS pretty much took a gun and shot themselves in the foot though.

If they're making minimum effort they're spending less and making more money anyway.
This gen isn't as huge as the previous one for them, they were riding on the success of the past gen and in time they'll have to push forward with effort again. Else they wouldn't even try to put their games on PC, this is a way to ride this wave longer.

Right now all the have is a very close margin to the PS4, falling behind at times and going ahead at times, it won't ever sell the same amount at this point.
