It has been announced that price for games on the Nintendo Switch 2 will set players back up to $80 for digital and $90 for physical. At least in some cases.

The announcement of $80 digital video games for the Nintendo Switch 2 can be found on the official Nintendo website. It's worth mentioning, however, that Donkey Kong Bananza is being priced at $70. That seems to suggest it will continue to be a game-by-game basis, though $80-$90 seems more welcomed by Nintendo.

I don't think $80 itself is the end of the world. Most games will go there eventually.
What kills my interest in Nintendo though is the $80 price tag combined with the no sales policy.

Games are already too expensive for my third world salary, but with every other publisher you can basically just wait 8-12 months and pick up stuff on sale. These Nintendo games launching for $80 will still be $80 in 4 years.

Glad i don't need to worry about it. Not gonna buy the switch2. Unless, they release a good pokemon game (will probably never happen)

They're crazy, yes, but not as crazy as their fans, so it doesn't matter. Nintendolife are already deleting comments that express anything negative about the game prices or the physical now costing more than digital.

All will bow before the Nintendo.

By the way, that £75 for physical Mario Kart? $97 :ROFLMAO:

I thought digital was $10 less than physical? I'm curious how big the carts can be. Publishers will still probably cheap out and require downloads for physical games.

lol well well well...

I remember telling some of you this company is not your friend and that they're going to start selling games at a higher price the moment an opportunity opens up and here we are....

This company is one of the greediest companies that many of you seem to be completely blind to, they literally were selling ports and remasters oat full price, Not full remakes from the ground upm, I mean literally just a bare port at full price...

They're now selling you games at $80 that clearly are running below what you might see from xbox or playstation...

This surprise should come to no one and maybe it's time that conversation starts to happen around this company's greed

Keep in mind I have nothing against raising the price in the gaming industry but I more support this towards the high-end AAA games that are actually justifying those budgets towards something fundamentally could see from something different going on in those bigger larger games, these games literally look like Wii U games

Don't worry, when Sony start doing this, $80 will be okay all of a sudden.

Its ok when its actually a PS6 AAA game moving the needle in 8K sir

This is $80 for Switch ports...

Nintendo is my friend. If you work on yourself, they can be your friend too.

I think Nintendo's trying to curb-stomp that. I don't think it would be out of their realm to try to put a stop to that practice. I sincerely hope they do.

My opinion is I was looking to buy my first Mario Kart since N64. I'm not buying it now. Not on release anyway. Maybe on Black Friday if it's heavily discounted.

There are very very few games I'd spend $80 for. And even those games I'd get the collector's edition version anyway.

$80 is silly.

I already typically wait for sales on $60 games, so at this price it'll probably be an "only if the kids are begging for it" thing.

This just may have convinced me to not buy a switch 2, I was on the fence and was going to wait til later. Now I will just wait until the Emulators.
