Looks like the game was unlocked 4 hours early than the schedule, CCU will rise as more people finishing downloading and entering the game. Predict the peak it will get!
The franchise Peak CCU:

You two seem to have a thing going, don't you? Hey, I've heard this game is pretty gay.
Veilguard launched with 70K and grew to 89K over the weekend, which it never topped. And it was a giant failure that caused its entire team to be dissolved.Dragon Age managed 90k or whatever it was. This should do about the same if not better imo.

Nothing will ever beat concord though
You might be right. I just think AssCreed has broader appeal in spite of the controversies.Veilguard launched with 70K and grew to 89K over the weekend, which it never topped. And it was a giant failure that caused its entire team to be dissolved.
I expect AssCreed to be even bigger failure tbh.
It will be interesting. It has been 4+ years since the last major AC title. I think gamers expectations towards the RPG genre are much higher nowadays compared to 2020. And as well as Valhalla sold, even casual gamers were frustrated by that game. I highly doubt AC Shadows sells 1bil like Valhalla, which would be unthinkable 4 years ago. AC Japan should be the biggest in the series historyPeople typically always show up for the next big AC title. Like, Valhalla made over $1 billion dollars in revenue, OVER. Yet, reviewers and gaming enthusiasts will make it seem like the game was a failure/slog. If Shadows is just more of that formula, but now set in Japan, there’s no reason to believe that it won’t have a massive audience and consumer-base, especially on the general side.
It's worth noting that I believe everything here post-Syndicate was a late addition to Steam - most of the newer games launched exclusively on Ubisoft's own launcher and the Epic Games Store. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first game in the franchise in nearly 10 years that's launched day one on Steam.

Did a quick research, Ubi's exclusive deal with Epic started 2019 with The Division 2. So Odyssey was a day one launch on Steam, and that explains why it has the highest CCU in the franchise. It's worth noting that I believe everything here post-Syndicate was a late addition to Steam - most of the newer games launched exclusively on Ubisoft's own launcher and the Epic Games Store. With all due respect... if AC Valhalla was SO successful, Ubi wouldn't be in today's situation. Given he sheer number of employees and polemics around Ubi and this game.. this needs to be something like Elden Ring + Monster Hunter + Astrobot to save Ubi.People typically always show up for the next big AC title. I get the feeling thatKacho is somehow involved as a third wheel
Yeah, and it launched with no Steam achievements. Odyssey was the last AssCreed to release day one on Steam. After that they went Uplay + EGS exclusive. Was Valhalla a late Steam release?
Can't imagine how it only got 13k concurrent on Steam. It was a pretty big release back when it came out.
Yes, see the date in the screenshot, it was Dec 2022Was Valhalla a late Steam release?

? The situation of Ubisoft does not suddenly change the fact that Valhalla was, indeed, a big success. With all due respect... if AC Valhalla was SO successful, Ubi wouldn't be in today's situation. Valhalla made over a billion dollars in revenue. That can get quickly wiped out trying to run a company as large of Ubisoft with multiple failed AAA games. Star Wars, Avatar, and Skull and bones were 3 expensive titles that all failed to remake their cost. With all due respect... if AC Valhalla was SO successful, Ubi wouldn't be in today's situation. 8K right now, this time there is no Gamepass excuse, DAV had 70k on release date

Valhalla was released on Steam two years after launch when there was zero hype and the people knew its reputation. I bet it probably didn't sell too much on Steam at all. As for the 1 billion earning, we don't know how much was epic moneyhat deal.Valhalla made almost 2 billion dollars in revenue but had a CCU of like 15,000.
Remember not every Ubi game is sold on Steam.
Most Ubi players on PC just buy through Ubisoft.
P.S Are chuds voting for Valhalla to fail?.......If so why?
Valhalla went to steam years later, this one is day and date. So far, based on console sales, the pc version doesnt seem to be faring much better than what it looks like based on CCU.Valhalla made almost 2 billion dollars in revenue but had a CCU of like 15,000.

This, I have got my copy directly from Ubisoft. Don’t think ever played any AC game on Steam.Valhalla made almost 2 billion dollars in revenue but had a CCU of like 15,000.

FixedHe trolled me with this
According to Ubi Valhalla is the best selling and top grossing AC game, meaning it sold over 20 million copies.Valhalla was released on Steam two years after launch when there was zero hype and the people knew its reputation. I bet it probably didn't sell too much on Steam at all. As for the 1 billion earning, we don't know how much was epic moneyhat deal.
Shadows is simultaneously launching and Ubi dropped the requirement for their their party launcher, so they obviously value Steam release way more this time. The CCU will be a much more precise indication of the game's performance. It's possible it will be the series biggest launch as the current top isn't really that high.
... Are you actually suggesting epic paid ubisoft hundreds of millions so fans of the franchise would suddenly not just buy it on uplay like they had with the others, so they could buy it on EGS instead and still be required to also launch uplay to actually play it?As for the 1 billion earning, we don't know how much was epic moneyhat deal.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has also become
the top-selling Ubisoft PC launch ever, driven by all-time record Ubisoft Store sales performance.
There’s a very high chance that the game will sell better on PS5, but, we’ll see.I guess we'll have to wait and see how it does tomorrow and during the weekend, but I don't think Ubisoft is making its money back.
