Oh cmon you guys are pathetic. I think the game looks like shit but if players are happy why are yall trying to downplay that
Point is, initial reception, especially since 5 days of expensive premium that creates 'can't be that I've played so-so game for that money' kinda response is a bad indicator. After initial hype and all sorts of 'but it's good' Starfield is sitting at mixed. True reception will be judged in a week. It is also not 81 but 78.75% according to steamdb and will slide down more eventually.

Yeah I know. Why da fuck cares? One side trying to hate on this game (Xbox exclusive..Hmm) and another side trying to cancel it cause its woke. And then another side who is enjoying the game.

Not every game needs to be a 90+mc banger to be enjoyed. Even though i personally think it looks meh.

Not really a big RPG kind of guy but I have a Series X here so I'll just go install it and try it. The Lumen and Nanite tech is something that really interests me. I get pulled out of a experience due to environmental pop-in quite easily so this game immediately got my attention.

I wonder what Josh Sawyer is up to. Maybe Pillars of Eternity 3? I know he said he doesn't have much confidence in directing another one after the "failure" of PoE2. But that was quite some years ago...

Based on what he said a few months ago, it seems like he was just helping with Avowed's development

Feels a bit like Control where good word of mouth will make it moderately successful. But I do think the second reveal hurt it.

Having said that it's actually fairly decent and much better than Outer Worlds which I'm playing at the same time

No. Starfield launched to mixed reviews and is still mixed. It never sniffed Very Positive.

Starfield started out with around 88% positive, it was firmly in the "very positive" bracket.

Edit: it was actually 89%, the thread here documented it all in real time.

Why shouldn't it? Have no clue how it performs on PC, but as a game it is wonderfully addictive. Exploration and combat are some of the best in recent memory. Your companions have tons of character and are actually fun to talk to. Kai might be a rip-off of Garrus but you know what they say about stealing from the best.

Then I stand corrected. I could have sworn it launched to mixed reviews following the early access.

I'm interested in how they achieved smooth gameplay with bad framerate. Do I need to ask PC gamer whether the drug is prescription or does anyone know?
