Xur arrives tomorrow. Woe is me. How the hell to get an extra coin?
I've gotten 2 today within 2 hours of each other, first one was from a blue engram, second one was from a public event.
Now I'm just waiting for Xur to spawn

Certain special Legendaries can, I think it might be a raid only exclusive thing. Another guy got a Void damage Auto Rifle. Cray cray.

I don't really like Crucible either. Played 5 games because I accidentally picked up a Bounty before I understood what it was. Fastest way to earn rank and marks is to do Events and Patrol on earth.

Note. The picture in this thread says Blind Steppes. It is just Steppes. He who made the picture got it wrong. Blind Steppes is where you spawn when you start a new character. You can't get there.
Your main rotation should be
XX:00 be at Mothyards
XX:10 be at Divide
after done wait around Steppes and see if there is an event around until about XX:25
XX:30 be at Mothyards
XX:40 be at Divide
after done wait around Steppes and see if there is an event around until about XX:55

Wasn't it 13 Coins for an armor piece and 23 Motes of Light for the Exotic Emblem? Was the weapon 23 Coins?
The Exotic Engram will be a guaranteed Exotic, but it may be for a different class than yours.
Exotic Weapons from Xur (Ruler of the planet Omycron Persei 8!) are 23, it's the armour pieces that are 13. The Exotic Engrams are 23 Motes of Light.
Provided the weapon is an AR of course. Or maybe a Sniper.

It's 23 for a weapon? Well that certainly screwed my weekend plan. Back to ranking up vanguard it seems unless 9 more fancy falling out of the sky tomorrow. Hoping motes will be a weapon this time as I have way too many.

seriously, I'm at a loss. I have only 2 crucible bounties I can do. I'm still at level 0 in the ranking. The game refuses to drop me anything over rare. I haven't seen a rare bounty at all. So it seems like I just have to grind crucible until I'm rank 2 to buy legendary stuff. This is shit Bungie. I'm locked out of doing content in my game because of bullshit randomness and not having the time to sit around all day and grind rep points to buy the armor that would let me participate in all the content. Its a complete crock of shit.

Xur has 5 items a week: one guaranteed Exotic armour piece for each class for 13 Strange coins, a guaranteed Exotic weapon for 23 Strange Coins, and an Exotic Engram for 23 Motes of Light that can become a piece for any of the 3 classes.

The more advanced weapons and gear is definitely changing ever so slowly over time how the crucible plays. And not for the best in my opinion. I still enjoy it, but man..
I can only imagine what iron banner is going to be like. I liked it in beta because it felt like everyone live longer. I have no idea how is going to play out this time around.

You can always try to get Vanguard to Rank 2. It's all PVE stuff, which may be less annoying than Crucible.

I doing the Weekly Heroic Strike on Impossible Difficulty. I was on the final sliver of boss health with my fire team, literally probably two minutes left, and we all got kicked from the game. All progress lost, we'd have to start from the beginning again.

Hmm, I already have an Exotic weapon (Thorn), but if Xur sells an Exotic Scout Rifle tomorrow, I might just buy that. I only have 15 Coins at the moment, though.
