Exotic chests don't seem very interesting.
Of the two Hunter can get, there's one up and the other lets you revive faster (reviving is pretty damn fast already) and you drop extra orbs of light. That's it

A Strange Coin is 2401 glimmer- but he'll only sell you one.
Buy it every week. Everyone go do it right now. 2401 glimmer is nothing.

Buying items from the Speaker.
All I care about for the moment is the higher base light of Exotics- and I'd be jumping straight from a rare. It would put me 2/3 to 27 without any upgrades. Consider it a welfare exotic if you must, I'd even consider dismantling it one day to upgrade another.
It's just the chance of it being for another class that makes me hesitate.

that's after buying a couple ammo packs and that 2401 glimmer coin. There are consumable items that make you gain glimmer at an alarming rate.

Xur sells one for glimmer then farm. You can also get another two with 77 spin metal or spirit blooms
Just buy the one on sale. Unless you don't have the coins. The alternative isn't that much better.

At that point, you don't really need it anyway. Most of the high-end stuff is bought with Vanguard Marks.

and engrams. you pay them to the Cryptarch to be made fun of.
They too has strange coin as background image like the glimmer exchange.

Same here, already got the helm through RNG luckily enough. I'd rather have the gauntlets from last week. Only warlock got the same stuff.

Exactly. The stuff you get from the speaker for motes is useless bullshit and the prices for them are way too high. Gambling on the exotic engram is a better idea. Even if it isn't for the class you play right now you at least have something ready should you level up another class.
