Yeah, good thing those bounties don't disappear after they timeout from the list if you accept them. I've got a bounty for 500 void weapon kills in crucible and I've never found a primary with an element. Pretty tempted just to drop it instead to be honest, way too trivial for a gun I don't even want.

You can just run around with a void shotgun + void rocket launcher/machine gun. Wouldn't take that long tbh, if you enjoy the crucible that is :p

I was just going to ask at what Cryptarch level I should expect to see Legendary engrams available. I am Level 5 and I still only have green's max -- still no blues.

I've been getting at least one from him for a while now. Last couple of levels I actually got 2 legendary engrams from him. Wait you get a package from him when you level him up with 3 engrams. Legendary engrams arent available for sale if that's what you mean.

Teleporting enemies with shields are so bullshit. Was doing the daily mission but kept dying because they spam teleport whenever I start shooting them and run away whenever their shield goes down. Right when I was about to finally finish the mission I get fucking dc'd. Only decent thing to come out of that is I got a few small upgrades. I also got my first legendary from a rare pattern earlier.

anyone else smirk every time Peter says "I'm starting to sense a pattern here" while opening the door in the Moon strike mission for the 800th time?

I meant to purchase from him, not to bring to him to decrypt -- I think I misunderstood you. I want to know at what Cryptarch level do Legendary or even Exotic engrams become available to buy.

I know in the beta people were leveling him up to like 15 to 20 and able to buy amazing stuff.

Nowhere in that video does he tell "mmo people" to not have too high expectations for the game.

His reasoning in that video for not calling Destiny an mmo, boils down to other things like not wanting people to think it will have an subscription or that it isn't a shooter.

I think defending Destinys overall lack of content, with the excuse that "b-but bungie doesn't call it an mmo", is just plain dumb. Destiny is structured like an mmo, and as such people are going to compare it to games that it resemble, regardless of what Bungie wants to label it as.

I played with another guy who had a warlock with a legendary helmet.

How are you guys getting these legendary helmets? I assume PvP because strikes haven't dropped anything useful for me. Ever. Besides engrams to level up my character I guess.

I don't get why they made the end game so incredibly grindy. It's not like they are trying to get people to purchase micro transactions to advance their character faster and it's also not like they want people to keep paying for a monthly fee...

Just make the game fun and constantly rewarding. I've played about 10 hours since I've hit level 20 and I've literally received only one legendary and it's for a Warlock.

How much do they reasonably expect me to play these strikes for?

Diablo 3 did it right...

This. So fucking much. Bungie loves their fucking grind, that's for fucking sure. The loot and the differences in loot is fucking abyssmal too.

cosigned. best enemy by a mile. everything about them is chillingly intimidating and i love their theme music

Yup, their Venus debut is great. It's like fighting an army of Terminators. Play on a Hard for the full effect.

Ahh okay, yeah nothing like that yet.

The Vex are soooo much fun to fight.
Hobgoblins and their huddle-down immunity and the big heavy gunner things with the rotating shields make them bottom of the heap for me, but their teleport makes for a nice twist.

I love sprawling fights with the Cabal though. They feel the most Halo to me, in the sense that their various roles mesh really well together and keep you on your toes.

Was afraid of that too. Not too fond of the handcannon either. I use one for PvE sometimes, but in PvP I just don't know. It sucks you're forced to play through the in my opinion horrible multiplayer mode. I'm cool and completely willing to do all sorts of ridiculous PvE stuff. Just don't force me your godawful multiplayer mode down my throat, and tell me "get gud, skrub", with a ridiculous grind bounty that penalizes you for sucking.

I do actually like the MP in this game but yeah, way too much grinding involved in this bounty and it would really get on my nerves if I didn't enjoy all the game modes. I could probably get the points with that method pretty easily but having just heard that there's two more steps after this I'm just gonna wipe it from my list. If I'm gonna grind this hard for a weapon it's gotta be one that I plan on using.

Something odd happened to my Blacksmith shader I had equipped. I noticed it was no longer applied to my character but the shader itself is still in my inventory. When I highlight it, it says "Requires Purchase".

That's the mission that made me come here and say that, ha. Their introduction is rather well done. It's just wave after wave in this cool setting. They react/flinch when you shoot them, you can shoot off their heads and they can keep going, and they explode when you hit 'em in the chest.

Who remembers the quote at the end of the beta where dude said the game doesn't open up until you hit level 8? It doesn't open up until level 12, IMHO and god forbid you don't try to grind vanguard/cryptark (<------ spelling error excuse me) ranks.

Has anyone gotten to level 26? Leveling up after 25 is difficult.

LOL. Got another legendary weapon.

You basically need to get legendary gear to have hopes of getting above 25. And you will need to upgrade the armor pieces if you want to be able to go higher than 27.

I hope the mixed reception puffs Bungie up and makes them want to prove something and they really deliver the goods with future updates.

It's definitely a game that can only benefit from updates, like how now two years later Diablo 3 is a substantially better game than it was at launch, night and day. Bungie has already cemented time after time that they are dedicated to years worth of content to this game, I don't think they'll disappoint with the right expectations.

Got my cryptarch to lvl 9, get legendary helm engram. IT'S FUCKING NOTHING. lol, this game man.

Haha. Jesus. Wtf, bungie. Getting the cryptarch to that level and then trolling you with the reward is just pure bullshit. It's so hard to believe this was an actual design decision by actual developers trying to create a fun and satisfying game and not just a simple bug.

Any Xbone people want to do some story missions on Mars with me? I don't feel like doing them on my own.

one-two punch to hobgoblins before they shield is so satisfying.

Cabal are my favorite to fight though.

having a quick dinner and walkin the dog and then I'll be on probably for many hours if anyone wants to group up. dunno if wallach is around but I know he wanted to do the weekly strike if another is up for that as well.

Hahaha well I went back and did the last level again on level 18 mode so it'd be quick and the reward is a level 16 gun worse than the level 18 I'm using at 20 and a cutscene that accomplishes exactly nothing. This game is a bad joke.

That 25k glimmer cap just takes the cake, this game man.

Yeah, I don't get it.

What in the everloving fuck. N I N E???

Half way to 10 lol.

I've been super lucky with drops as of late...

Nah I'll bite.

First of all, Destiny is structured a lot like an MMORPG. Planetside 2 is an MMO, and it's structured nothing like Destiny.

The only qualification of a game being an MMO is the massive player count, which Destiny doesn't have.

There are a lot of underbaked features and inexplicable absences that make no sense for a game that was so well resourced. I don't mean to be insulting to any of the very, very talented people who worked on this game, but I almost can't figure out what they've been doing over the past few years. This game simply has so little shit in it.

Even as someone who is really enjoying the game, I really agree with the bolded. I get a big impression that somewhere along the way, Bungie scrapped big parts of the project and started over, trying to salvage what they could.

Many of the story missions consist of the same thing. Typically some variation of "Go from A to B, hold Square for Peter Dinklage, kill waves of enemies." The story itself is completely devoid of character development, and you end the plot knowing little more than when you began. "I'm starting to detect a pattern." Me too, Pete. Me too.

I mean, a total of six strikes, which are basically just phased overworld areas, aside from the end boss area? And all six bosses, aside from Dust Palace, are the exact same thing: shoot the boss if he isn't looking at you, while enemies spawn in at certain intervals.

The vanguard playlist seems majorly screwed up; your rewards for doing a 20 playlist should propel you directly to the 22 playlist and so on, but it seems like most of the time your rewards are just sidegrades, leaving you much better off to go PvP, where you end up getting the highest level items right from the get-go.

I dunno. I love the game, but there are a number of parts that make me go "...Bungie did this?" It just seems like they would know better.

I had a few ideas for what I think would make the game play a bit better:
- Proximity chat needs to be added. Make it a toggle.
- PvP teams need chat. Make it a toggle
- Inviting to a fireteam needs to be simple. Maybe R3 -> D-pad up to invite, with D-pad up to accept and D-pad down to decline.
- Engrams should never ever ever drop items below their advertised rarity. Greens turning to blues and blues turning to purples is fun. Purples turning to blues is not.
- Public events need to occur more often.
- Players per world needs to be increased.
- Let me open the Directory without going to Orbit.
- Add another level of defense upgrade to level 20-24 gear, so we can boost the light on gear higher. Right now I'm stuck at 24 until I grind out rep (which is so goddamn slow. Jesus), or get lucky and find legendaries. That really sucks when the supposed crown jewel, The Vault of Glass, requires 25 to even enter, and suggests 26 for completion.

I'm hoping they jump on making tweaks, because even small things would help out tremendously.

Yea, the Minotaurs are a real bitch to fight on Hard. They have shields and keep teleporting up to your face just to punch you,
Yup, those fucking Axis variants. Thankfully, Sunbros can deal with them with Solar Grenades and the Melee-generated Overshield :D

it's especially a bitch to deal with because they also have those cannons. I think the only enemies that scare me shitless when they appear even with just regular shields+red health combo, are the Cabal with the miniguns and rocket launchers. Those thing kill you so fast.

.

You can't be serious.

"If we were to say that this is an MMO, people who are used to pure MMO's, y'know the purest sense of the word might come to Destiny and say...this is not an MMO"..."We want to make sure that we're not selling someone an experience that we can't live up to"
