the raid is level 26 - so people at 24 should be able to get in no problem (they should just expect hell)
I probably am, but I left that game instantly, specially since it was already going and they were loosing and I'm not putting up with Bungie's terrible matchmaking

Shit, totally forgot the Raid itself gives you new loot on the way to actually finishing the raid. (If I remember that Luke Smith interview right.) People are going to be coming out of this thing like Level 30. 0_0

Agreed. I'm an average to below average player at best. I don't spend all my time in Destiny or console FPSs in general (6h played since launch). When I came up to level 10 and unlocked a nice autorifle, I started sniffing .75 KD. I still like that even a scrub like me has a chance at some decent gear to continue my averageness.
Last game, only 1 item hit the RNG and it was a blue pulse rifle for me. I thanked the RNG god.

Level 26 is the suggested level I think. You could probably run with other higher levels around 24-25 but yeah, it's a very high level requirement for so early in the games life.

I tried a level 24 difficulty story mission at level 21. I died almost 50 times.

He's wrong about legendaries. I bought my first one today. You get 2 a week unless you want a weapon or headpiece. I've got 2 legendaries off of pvp. Next week I can buy a headpiece and main weapon which will give me all legendary besides green and purple ammo weapons.

Yes. Pretty much. I have the pulse rifle from finishing the game and no upgrades in sight. An auto or scout would be cool. But I keep getting pistols. And I hate them.

Legendary Helm/Class Item + Exotic Body for my lvl 2 Titan
Legendary Class Item/Boots for my lvl 3 Hunter
Plus enough Coins to buy either the Exotic Hunter Helm or Titan hands next weekend..I might need to reconsider my main class.

level 25 is required to even enter the raid. doing it at 25 might not be terribly difficult but as you can tell levels in this game are incredibly important. we just did the nightfall strike(28) at 25-26 but everything is a one shot and you definitely have to cheese it. it's a normal mode raid though, for now, so it won't be nightfall level hard, but it's apparently still going to be pretty tough.

Welp, i'm done for the night and my final tally for the weekend is FIVE legendary engrams. All 5 gave shit green or blue engrams or materials. That's a big fucking ZERO ACTUAL LEGENDARY ITEMS. NADA. This is beyond laughable now, thanks Bungie.

like another guy said, patience is the most important thing when tackling stuff outside your weight class
a lot of skills end up being used for entirely different things when enemies no longer operate with kid gloves. the hive go from headshot practice to brood war zerg at level 24

Hm, thats true too. My legendary engram had a blue item. I was super excited when I first got it because I thought it was guaranteed to be legendary. The wind left my sails so quickly

An engram should garantee an item of the same color. I dont know how anyone thought it would be a good idea for that not to be the case. It's obvious. If they wanted the items to be rarer than just make the engram drops of that color more rare. I don't want any of this bullshit.
I feel like I'm an early adopter for a product that needs a couple more revisions.

I'm at this point wondering how Bungie didn't see this coming? Did they do no Q&A testing? No focus groups? It's just baffling to me.
They've got a few weeks of my time to try and fix it during which I'll be playing very little. If they don't do shit about it, I'll be dropping this game.

I'm a little worried about this to be honest. I've found a really nasty trick where if you sit down when being approached sometimes they'll just wander up to you for the easy headshot and not expect you to spring to life with the blade, but now I'm scared to use it anymore in case people think im AFK.
How is he wrong? What he said is very, very common. See my post elsewhere on the page. 5 legendaries this weekend and I got ZERO actual legendary items. A bunch of worthless greens and blues and a couple of materials. Loot is broken. I played a fair bit of crucible and did ok to good and got crap blues.

Who knows, as far as I can tell it's just another B.net group tab really. Hopefully something is introduced in game.
Encourages you to play other classes I guess. My friend playing a Warlock has 2 legendary and 1 exotic gear piece for a Hunter. I'd roll a 2nd character instantly in that situation.
I did it just fine at 22. Probably helps that it was Devil's Lair which I've played enough to memorize.
You'll still have to get that class to level 20 before using it though.
22 or 24, you need a good team either way
Keep the faith. That happened to me too then I got two legendaries in a row. A good way to get engrams is doing a public event each day. You get free engrams in the mail.

I don't know if it's because I hit level 16 and didn't notice, but did anybody else know that the Vanguard is up and running?
It'd be funny going from 19 to like 25 in a couple of seconds though..
