Dragon Age Veilguard director and Queerosexual Gendermancer Corinne Busche gone from BioWare

I thought the thread title was a vicious attack, but it was actually a self description of Corinne.
lol, I asked Copilot about gendermancers and their potential effect on studios:

And nothing of value was lost.
Shame, she actually had the chance to prove the haters wrong by delivering a game that stayed true to the franchise and the (at this point nearly dead) legacy of Bioware. Instead she chose to push the ideological virtue signaling up to 11.

The real question is will EA/Bioware learn anything from this and take the necessary steps to ensure Mass Effect turns out great?
Lol of course not, They/Them Liara is on the way!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. These people would rather see the studio go under than to actually give the audience what it wants.

Gotta love the toxic positivity. This is what happens when your employees won’t say what they really think because they’re afraid of getting sent to diversity training.

I get that some really want to unload on some trans hate, but it's not fair to dump all the failures on her when the game was in dev hell for as long as it was. Nor is it the only major stumble coming from Bioware casting a pretty damn dark shadow on whatever the Mass Effect team has cooking up. Just say it - the current Bioware team just doesn't have the juice it once did.
Sorry for the supposedly trans hate bro... time for me to pull a barve?

I don't want to shit on this confused person, all I'll say it's usually not a good sign when the lead on a just shipped game departs.

The contempt you guys have for the people that work in the game industry with be your own undoing.
Strange how nobody had contempt for people working in the game industry in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, or even the first half of the 2010s. Almost like there was some massive shift in the mid-2010s in the industry and who they employed.

It also doesnt help that gaming employees often like to put themselves out there trying to be popular with gamers as a face of the company or franchise. Kind of like.... "Hey gamers, if you want to chat or leave a comment, I'm your guy. Bring it on"

The vast majority of workers in the world just do their job and dont go on social media to promote themselves, their product or nicely or combatively talk to customers.

Nor do they inject personal politics into the company's products.

So if any worker wants to be chatty and influence a product not for what the users want, but for their own interests then be prepared to be blasted if it sucks.

I love how he italicized “in”, as if our contempt ought to be aimed somewhere else instead of at the people who ruined BioWare and Dragon Age.

As much as I know it needs to happen, the closure of the Edmonton studio is such a sad thought. I was amazed when I learned that mass effect and kotor had been made just a few hours drive away. Game development didn't seem like something that happened in the Canadian prairies. What Muzyka, Yip and Zeschuk (the founders) must feel today.

Fuck Corinne Busch or whatever his real name is, and all the people like him who show to drive by torpedo studios and franchises that once stood for greatness.

Strange how that game comes out in like a month and Obsidian has been silent on it. I think they know its gonna bomb.

Honestly that I wouldn’t read to much into. Microsoft doesn’t advertise any of their games anymore. IJ was the best thing they’ve published in 12 years that wasn’t Forza and it didn’t get any adverts at all.

Undoing of what? My DNA? Will I start to come undone as I melt from the inside into a pool of human meat jello?

The undoing of bad games I won't buy or play? What a huge loss... societal? God? What's am I going to have undone here?

I also have contempt for people who work in the medical insurance complex, is that going to be my undoing? Why is contempt for game devs going to be specifically my undoing? What makes them so special that they should be immune from my contempt?

Is it not more likely nothing will happen, except the next franchise they work on becomes shit and that series disappears... shouldn't that mean that more people should treat them with contempt? Like enough to have them not working on things people care about?

Because you're just supposed to shut up and consume the slop. A big cultural shift has happened in the last 18 months or so and these leftists do not know how to handle it.

Of course they dont. When things go bad (like recently where DEI products have tanked and companies are axing corporate DEI policies), it's more likely they go into depression mode, whine or blame customers.

All they had to do the past 5+ years is just act like a normal chill person and dont bring personal politics to work (including baking into the actual product!). If people can keep personal lives and their career separate (which you'd think is the normal thing to do since people typically arent willing to live through work 24/7) then things wont feel like life is collapsing when work tanks. Many of them probably feel like outcasts already in the their personal lives, so bringing issues to work risking failing again now makes the career part a failure too.

It's like they are begging for their entire daily lives to be hammered on like they enjoy it. Kind of like a gambler at a casino. it's not about the money part for some people (which I used to think it was when I was young bringing my wallet busting $100 to Niagara Falls hoping to win money). But it's more about the rush going on winning or losing streaks. Addicted to emotions. Not the money.

Spoiler alert I'm pretty damn left, I'm just not whatever this left is. Tottaly OK with some transgender working as a director or even deciding their now a chick, go for it, knock yourself out. I'm not OK with the outcome to Dragon Age, is it better than some shitty GaaS game EA wanted them to squeeze out? No idea but it's not better than Dragon Age... and that's the problem. Want to make a game about how unfair you feel sociciety treats you, go make it over there by itself where it can die where no one can see it. Not on a damn franchise I care about, trying to leech off its brand name and good will killing it in the process. Dragon age had the elves being shit on for its unfair world narrative, the fact that was made out to essentially be nothing and entire threads where dropped shows how little they gave a shit about what came before.

Now it's going to be 10+ years before this series ever gets anouther chance if it even gets one. Fuck this chick.

It's sad to be living through a period where things are being destroyed instead of built. Crazy how much can change in 20 years.

That's gaming and media for ya.

Take existing rock solid products and instead of using good judgement to make another good sequel, they'll roll the dice hoping the new version or vision is a hit too. Thats what happens when some creative directors got too much power. They do their own thing and ignore what was done in the past. Movies are similar. A past director could had made some good movies. He doesn't want to do them anymore. They hire a new director. Instead of continuing on a similar kind of movie that had a good vibe, he does his own 180 vision.

Other industries arent like that. When you got something good going, you do your best to not fuck it up. Big changes happen when the product lines are starting to wane and someone has to make a major call to change it up. But it's rare you get top selling products totally changing itself into something different, but the same in name only. I'm not even a DA gamer but I can tell by comparing older games to the new game and reading about the changes people write it's a very different kind of game. You could scrap the DA name off the game and give it another name and nobody would notice.

Sure, but I think it goes deeper than just personnel changes. If you compare early Bioware games with Veilguard - they might as well be from different dimensions. The world has just changed a lot.
