I'll say this right now too because it's the truth. They better launch this game day 1 on the ps5 and switch 2 if it can handle it to recoup costs because there's absolutely 0 way that a project this expensive is going to recoup anything going on gamepass day 1.

Pre-alpha footage looked... Well, alright, On par with Dragon's Dogma 2 bar the style. Nothing amazing or mind-blowing fo sure. Still kinda love the style (and subtle Fable 1 nods like Balverine) if we forget about FMC.

Ya i looked it up and apparently playground games pitched it in early 2018 'a little before obsidian were bought in 2018 who knows'.

From a 1st party standpoint, Doom: Dark Ages is my most anticipated game of 2025. It'll be multiplat, but it's still a 1st party Xbox game. Outside of that, not much for the Xbox 1st lineup worthwhile this year.

If that’s not enough to say it looks amazing there’s certainly zero fuck all reasons either to say it looks like shit. This is what we have for footage, that footage looks amazing.

Presentation wise, what's shown (including the pre alpha game play today) looks very solid.
Someone made a comment earlier that aesthetically it reminded them of Hogwarts, I see that in the new footage too and am down for that.

Story looks intriguing with that British charm
World immersion / charm goes a hell of a long way toward making an RPG great
I want to get immersed into the world of Fable here. It’s like Hogwarts on steroids. It simply looks magical all around
One of the most next gen games I’ve seen that blends great tech and amazing art

This trailer looks great graphically.
Still not sure if this is how gameplay will be.
Also am expecting Ubisoft style checklist map. Any new developer goes that way for their big open world games.

I guess they'll take advantage of the opportunity to release it day one on PS5, it will look incredible on PS5 pro...although those animations and gameplay still look very rough.

If the game drops and looks completely different or has bad game mechanics or Ubisoft open world design (I would be so disappointed) then at that time we can have discussions on it. As of right now, all speculation… except that the graphics look amazing for what is shown.

This game was announced 2 months before the Series S was even confirmed. So long ago that posters were actually shocked it wasn't going to be on xbox one as well (other games announced at the same time were listing xb1/series x/pc) ... how can xbox go a whole gen without releasing a Fable?
Let's not even start on those pissed off it looked like being ages off as a 2022 title that would do little to sell series x consoles... now by the time it ships the xbox series will be reaching end of life if rumours are true and it'll be right there on ps5 and ps5 pro

Seems like everything MS touches goes to dev hell. Hellblade II was announced during the XSS launch/reveal and took 4 years to come out.
Avowed started in 2018, got rebooted in 2021, came out 2025.
Starfield delayed multiple times and end up with a “meh”.
Perfect Dark reboot shown in 2020, 5 years later we got one short gameplay trailer.
Halo fumbled beyond belief.
Methinks MS just doesn’t know how to make games good (or efficiently).

Eh.....I need more than just "tidbits" though. I don't think there is anything "crazy world" about that. If you are saying that the little bit we have seen looks "amazing" then I think that's reasonable though.

So what you are saying is that horizon 3 will release this year just a week before or after gta6.
anyone dropping games near the end of the year are going to have to go against a just launced GTA. Any other game will be basically dead on arrival.
Fable will be good, Playground doesnt miss.
Age of empires 4? Age of empires, 1,2 and 3 definitive editions, age of mythology retold? Age of empires games have been consistently good. Flight simulator 2022 was also great.
