I have Series X and I don't understand the negativity around the console

Got one too over the PS5, but honestly I've had it for 4 years and all the games I got is the 360 Metal Gear Solid HD collection and some other older games.. There's no games..

It feels like they made a great piece of hardware that they never knew what to do with it until they ultimately stopped caring.

the issue comes down to that there are just a huge number of miserable sony fanboys on this site that love nothing more than to shit on the Xbox console and its players in thread after thread despite this site supposedly having "no console warring/fanboyism" rules.

they cannot just be happy with what they have, they have to denigrate Xbox players.

How is this post still up?

I personally never liked the white 360 design. It reminded me too much of a maxi pad from the front. If you had said the Xbox 360 E I would have agreed with you. That thing was designed beautifully with a great form factor.

It's just a shame it arrived so late in the console's lifecycle that it didn't get more custom colors.
I did like the E's form factor, I just wish it came in white and looked a bit less like the one

In contrast, the PS5 Pro launch has been entirely devoid of any kind of negative....

GAF is dominated by Sony fanboys. That’s really all you need to know. I have a PS5 and an Xbox and I much prefer my Xbox. When I do play Sony “exclusives”, I usually just wait for the pc version.
You guys keep blaming Sony fans on GAF. Look at the overall sales. This is not a GAF problem. That is exactly one of Microsoft's biggest problems. Always looking at Sony instead of looking within.

A lot of GAF "Sony fanboys" also have an Xbox.

It is a great console, no one is denying that. However, if you already have access to a PS5 or PC there is absolutely no point in owning one.

It's a great console and has been my go to for multiplatform games up until just recently.

It just feels like a sunk cost to keep adding to my Xbox library with their future direction so muddled and unclear. So I probably won't buy anything new on Xbox, but I'm definitely keeping it for my existing library of hundreds of games.

Ask me about my wife's perfect butthole
It’s a good machine and they have good features.

Its power was just over-hyped by both MS and places line DF. In many ways it was outdone by the PS5, which had a $400 SKU at launch that in my opinion is the best deal in the history of gaming.

You can do it with multiple games and I might be wrong on this since I haven't utilized the feature that much; with an update that they released later, you can even resume a game after a full shutdown. On the PS5, you are putting the system to sleep and going back to that last game you had running while with Xbox, you can return to any of the games that have been put in "quick resume" mode. It's like having multiple windows open on your computer and if you don't close it out you can return to them, or sort of like how it is on our phones. I am not sure if you can do it with more than 5 games now but that's what I remember from launch and as I shared earlier, it's not I feature I use that often. I barely use the resume feature on PS5 so lol.
Correction: It is 3 games, not 5. With Xbox One/360 games you can have more than 3, but MS's FAQ page doesn't say how many and apparently not all games are supported. I am assuming that is probably not true anymore?
I tried finding a source on when they might have expanded quick resume with full shutdown but looks like, as Kacho pointed out, it's been there since launch, I was mistaken. So there you have it.

The hardware and service are excellent, the problem is that it will no longer offer you unique experiences with MS deciding to port all games, so it becomes a dispensable console.

Console itself is fantastic. But there’s no reason for people to buy it unless you are a fan of the ecosystem. All of the games are available on PC.

Nintendo and PS lead because they give people a reason to own it. I own a PC, Ps5 Pro and a Switch OLED all because their games aren’t available elsewhere at launch, or anywhere else at all. Xbox on the other hand…

This generation of MS consoles is awesome to me, I like Quick Resume feature so much! The store have so many games to buy, and sales are pretty often. It has the features in software and hardware to enhance my total view of appreciation
Maybe am overdramatizing this but it feels like people are pushing negativity towards this MS's generation too much
What do you think?
Love it! Xbox fans are enjoying it.

I thought Microsoft’s last console was complete garbage, but that they hit it out of the park this gen. For all the hate the Series S received this cycle, it has received the most amount of playtime from me outside of the Switch.

MS should consider releasing an Xbox Series S Slim/Mini/Lite and cut the price by an additional $50.

However, the should continue to acquire studios and push more PC adoption.

I am not negative towards the Series X specifically but my opinion on buying one (being a PC gamer) is the same opinion of buying an air ionizer. It's a moot issue that never strikes me as compelling even a little. I am neither negative nor positive to it. If you are a console player and use it, go for it. Ain't for me.

Now if someone was offering me one, I'll take it and maybe use it here and there as a novelty. But, I'd never buy it.

(To be fair, feel the same way about Sony. Except for Bloodborne remastered or 2 being exclusive, but they hate extra money)

I’m not the biggest fan of Microsoft hustorically but I always liked their consoles and in some ways I think XSX is their best creation yet, at least on paper. QR, Auto HDR, BC, Fps boost are many of the reasons that made me fall in love with gaming again and I really wish they would allocate more funding to continue supporting these features because they made the console so much more cooler than the competition. That said, I sold or gave away all others consoles I owned, because I don’t really need anything else and to this day I still turn it on pretty much every day.

I use it mainly to play backwards compatible games and the occasional Gamepass game that catches my eye.
I enjoy it quite a bit, but I really wouldn't have it as my console of choice if I could only have one system.
Other than Forza and Flight Simulator, Microsoft hasn't released anything this generation that I really liked.

Some quick thoughts regarding my time with my Series X
+ Nice hardware
+ backwards compatibility tech
+ auto hdr
+ runs cool and quiet
+/- Xcloud. Works great and love streaming games without having to install but they don't always look that good.
+/- Gamepass. Haven't purchased a game since gamepass came out which means I am not growing my purchased game library out or setting down roots to establish myself in the Xbox ecosystem. Guess this could be a good or bad thing? For games not on gamepass, I buy them on PS5 as they sometimes perform better and I like Dual Sense features better which makes a world of difference for my immersion, especially the rumble. Now that I have a PS5 Pro there will be no chance that I buy games on Xbox. I suppose if Xbox went tits up, I wouldn't care as I have nothing on that system to lose.
- Controller Tech is behind Sony's.
- No console exclusives anymore. Basically all games are available on PC and also being released on Playstation it seems. Exclusives give me huge incentive to buy consoles and play on them.

I sold my Series S. I think that system should never have come out but if anything good is to be said about it, it is a cheap gamepass machine.

This is an interesting offshoot of Xbox’s game pass strategy. When I sold my launch XSX after 2.5 years having used Game pass ultimate (thx gold conversion), I had only bought one game digitally, so there was no real loss of a game library.

I don't really understand this mentality...

Do you feel like you are part of some VIP club when you play exclusive games?

That’s the problem, it’s just fine, no innovation, barely anymore powerful the the ps5, no exclusive games, I’ll stick with the ps5 and switch thanks.

2 words: No exclusives
I mean its not they don't have console exclusives. Its more that they haven't found a proper stride this generation outside of offering Game Pass. They had their chances with Halo Infinite and Starfield; which were supposed to be massive and forever games. But they both failed to meet expectations and barely made an impact upon release. And the rest of the games aren't really mainstream enough like AOE, MSFS and other games like Pentiment, Hellblade 2 and Psychonauts.

If we had a good FPS with Perfect Dark, TPS with Gears, and an epic Fable earlier in the generation maybe that could've helped. But right now its feels too little, too late. Which is why they're just moving onto the next after some games already deep in development - Indy and Doom.
