This raised huge eyebrows when Sarah Bond said it, so was she lying or just doesn't understand her own products? Game pass 'core' isn't really game pass, the offerings on there are feeble and seem to serve only to provide a fig leaf so Microsoft can trumpet a bigger number of 'game pass subscribers' to hide the fact real game pass numbers have stalled or even gone backwards.

We have heard the rumblings of how upset bethesda was that their games were going exclusive, especially after ABK and during the trial rhe emails came out at how pissed off they were that they were exclusive and ABK wasnt.

Hi fi rush deserves a sequel and the creators probably have ideas and want to make it but the sales numbers and gamepass uplift doesn't support it. So that's why that's going multiplatform. Also the game is great so you saying they are nothing games is pretty shit lol. There might be loads of people that want that game. Same for sea of thieves, grounded and pentiment. All good games.

Just don't buy them if they aren't up your street.

I jist want a hi fi rush sequel! ...and I've mentioned it like 50 times. A netflix show, as the characters are the best part.

Well phil spencer called smaller games... not me, so not even he cares to call it a important game, I wont buy as many others wont either and it wont change anything in their decision making.

And btw, You should just drop the neutral lol Im laughing at everyone act.. nobodys buy that and is kind of sad trying to see you trying to pull it off over and over again ...

They are confusing systems recycling every game idea since gaming began as a platform because they are making MTX out of it.

With A-AAA gaming that is the context of their podcast. pay to win GaaS sports games take a lot flack, as does Fortnite, Genshin Impact, but all are clearly quality produced game products worthy of people's consideration, but Roblox for all the social fun tubers like A for Adele or Ryan's World can derive from it, the experience is technically inept, unfinished, devoid of original creativity and just recycling the £.1.99 budget tape game mechanics of spectrum/C64 and early b/w mobile phones.

If Xbox are leaning into that type of robux gaming void, then the sooner they go third party to save the livelihoods of their actual "game" developers with real talent the better for Microsoft's financials and the industry IMO.

I agree, because I like high-quality AAA games, but after seeing Sony's financial results showing how little profit is made on those big, expensive games, I kind of understand why they might want to chase that Roblox money.

It matters if you care about the health of the Xbox hardware… which we should all do, given that Sony dominance is very unhealthy for the industry. The fact is though that if Xbox’s big hitters come to PlayStation, nobody is going to be buying an Xbox anymore. Sales are bad enough as it is. Removing even the bullshit ‘exclusives’ it does have is a death warrant.

I have legit been laughing at all the nutters over the last two weeks. Timdog, Jezzy, Warren, then all the other loonies like Red Dragon. There's Psychos on all sides.

Have I personally invested more money into Xbox from the 360 days, yes. As it has been my platform for multiplatform games as well, due to family members choosing that platform. I buy every PS5 exclusive that interests me and I can't wait for Final Fantasy. I don't know what to say. I own two PS5s, two switches, 2 xbox series Xs and 2 series S for my kids plus a 4090 PC. I invest in every platform. Do you?

Couldn't agree more. The trust is totally gone for me, so whatever Phil & co says, just doesnt hold merit anymore for me. Phil was still busy spinning things yesterday. We know the whole testing the water spiel is spin to ease the change across. They're changing direction slowly but surely and trying to bring everyone along with them.

Unfortunately I've sold the Xbox as I no longer want to put more money into it. I dont think MS Gaming is suddenly disappearing or anything as dramatic as that. But where are we in a few years time? Big question mark. For me, I think its pretty much full third party publisher with a lot less focus on their own hardware. I might pick up another bit of their hardware further down the road, but tbh, I don't think there will be a need to.

The fact that this was a question that MS themselves put to themselves in their prerecorded podcast should tell you everything. It's basically a "please calm down about it for now, but we aren't saying no in the future". Gives the influencers that "but this is what they always said" out again.

With them going 3rd party, console sales will be pretty much dead.

And they were talking about a "technical leap", which most logically speaking and based on all the various rumors, would most likely mean some sort of Switch-like digital-only Ouya device.

The fact that they spoke a lot about "devices" and "hardware" and not "console" doesn't show much confidence in continuing with traditional console-hardware.
