New Xbox coming Next Year According to GameSir Leak

The next Xbox absolutely has to come out well before the PS6. Next year seems insane, but if it can boast better tech than the Pro and sell for 600 then maybe it will woo some console only gamers.

Not sure I'd want to go head to head with a new switch...
Right?!

Q2/3 of next year will be bleak for competitors next year. I bought into the ps5 pro line and while I didn't expect MANY banger releases for that console, I thought they would have something outside of update patches (don't get me wrong...I am loving FF7R again).

I don't know the right approach, if you are Sony do you just clear the path for Nintendo in Q2/3 or do you release a tentpole product q2/3?

Maybe Xbox scores a huge W and you get a native xbox app on the new switch?

My only real concern with a machine like that is how they'll manage old console BC. Either they abandon all pre-Xbox One BC and do a clean slate, or they turn it into a universal solution, i-e put BC on general Windows PC environments along with their own device.

I would hope they do the later, instead of just leaving it behind.
hoping for that universal solution.

Let it be a Xbox / PC Hybrid. I need to replace this ancient 1060 laptop and a new Xbox/PC that covers both console and is an adequate replacement for the laptop will be the best thing for me.
The only issue I have with that idea. Is I'd want it to be a console/gamepad focused ui. So I wouldnt want it to be focused in the same way as my media/work capable, lounge PC is. I thought the whole hybrid PC bit was born from the idea of having steam store type flexibility. Less so that you'd be doing non gaming type stuff with it.

I think it was @James Sawyer Ford (apologizes if it wasn't you James) that said months ago that Xbox might be playing 4D Chess this next time, or something along those lines

Edit - In May

Some won't be happy about that :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I'd be shocked if they were ready by 2025 honestly. They started creating the PS5 pro alongside the PS5 and that just came out. We know from the leaks MS had different plans so they change all their plans and have a new console to go in like 3 years? I don't know about that.

Maybe if the new system is essentially just a PC then I guess I could see it. They just slap on some big picture like mode from the Xbox UI and call it a day.

Depends on what the goal is.

Will it be updatable and be designed as an entry into pc gaming teritory for instance.

if it's just a significantly more expensive console though they should definitely wait, as if it releases next year for 1000, the price is never coming down, but a few years after ps6 will be out, probably more powerful and significantly cheaper, and they'll end up with another 'console' gen they'll need to bail on.

Not sure the fanbase would tolerate 1000+ every couple of years.
What if it’s only for enthusiasts aka they know casuals won’t buy it and all other consoles are for those that can’t afford this monster 👹.

Since ps5 pro just released they would have to wait until 2028 to release with better hardware unless a majority are not price conscious gamers. Then ps domination does not needs a mass market price.

Sony’s Achilles heel is releasing its games on pc. If confirmed then it’s console price would have to be mass market.

I haven't been able to find a source on the Xbox One X sales numbers. Do you have a link?
These are just projections that I read in the comments youtube video, less than 3M. I don't have a link anymore, just take this with a grain of salt.

Why do you think the bolded would even be CLOSE to possible?
I have this question for a lot of the posts in here. Just come off as hopes/dreams with little basis in reality. So Microsoft’s answer to everything is to, again, try to take on Sony in power while continuing to lose share? The Pro will have already scratched the right itch and many eyes will be “eyeing” the PS6 by 2026.

A powerful handheld is much more likely.

The PS5 Pro has shed light on the CPU limitations of these 9th gen consoles. Zen 2 isn't really cutting it in lot of cases without serious compromise. A Zen 4 / Zen5 system would be a big boost to CPU power. As far as the GPU goes, not sure the right answer there, but it couldn't be anything crazy or otherwise you are totally right on the cost aspect.

next gen xbox

18TF, 24GB of RAM and a 40% higher CPU games with cartoom graphics at 300fps, this is sooo next gen wow.

unfortunately, power is not everything, Sony has mastered the art of making cutting-edge graphics, all Sony studios need to do is make games and lower the price of the PS5 Pro, the next gen Xbox dies at birth.

So weird to see that Xbox leak a day after they’re pushing out an ad that’s essentially pulling the plug on hardware and goes digital/app/browser 🤔
I do not think they are announcing that they are pulling the plug. They are saying traditional consoles are no longer their priority and they will accept/expect lower sales. They are basically no longer going to compete with Sony head-to-head on hardware.

I doubt there are many guys who would dare to buy any Xbox after MS said that the Xbox is nothing

Surely specs must be out there if it is releasing next year. I don't understand why Pro is 700$ with around 30% more performance, is Sony making money from it ? Microsoft has lot of money to burn I hope they release with upgraded CPU and 20GB at 800$ ?

All that really matters is the app and the digital log-in. That is how you own your games library and access GP, and that will be on multiple devices.

This is what people don't seem to get. Yes, they are releasing a new console. No, they don't really care how well it does. They are trying to get their games/app everywhere and will rely on the office 365 method to increase their revenue. I doubt it works but I look forward to watching them try.

MS is telling everyone a new console is coming, sure. Some 'insider' confirms it, and then it gets leaked.

What is going to be the reaction of Xbox shills/fanboys? ... Xbox is still in the fight. Thus, it is worth keeping up the fight on social media and hopefully general consumers/casuals become aware of it.
👆 that's is the damage control.

i think the next year it's going to be most critical year for the xbox brand ever.
Of course! How else does one earn their evangelical salary?!

I absolutely see it as the end of their hardware focus. They’re saying that every device where you have a browser or can install their app is an Xbox.

* A ROG Ally is an Xbox handheld. It was in their ad. Why would they waste resources making their own handheld now?

* A PC is an Xbox, that’s their message. Why waste resources making a powerful Xbox Next with a PC focus and Steam access?

I’m not mad though, it’s nice to know that I already have a ”Xbox Pro”, a water cooled Thermaltake Tower with a 7800X3D and 4080 Super. If they can get emulation going through the app for original Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One there is nothing my PC can’t do better than any powerful Xbox they make.

It wont be a mid gen upgrade
it will be exactly that, they are in no position to dictate a new gen start.

if they'll do hybrid pc, it'll sell fraction of even series with the apparent price tag.

everything will be developed around base ps5 including ms first party well into first years of ps6.

lol they are currently selling a 5 years old xbox at $600.

Kepler also believed it was coming much sooner at one point last year

Not 2025 afaik, and even 2026 seems unlikely at this point given gfx13 timelines. Imo we will see PS6/Xbox-next/Steam Deck 2 all in 2027.

It is probably their handheld and those are not cheap either. But if it is releasing next year we will have some leaks in coming months for sure.

They will be using APU which can be economical compared to pc.

But I don’t expect next consoles to be high value devices. Will likely be closer to PC in cost vs performance.

It will be a console experience with an open ecosystem. Its sales will be low. Its for die hard xbox fans. (People who play Halo / Gear day in and out).
Dude you're a hoot to talk to. Always entertaining gibberish coming out of you.

Because Microsoft might be willing to take a larger loss on Hardware than Sony would be?
nah those days are over, they could have taken a larger loss and stay full exclusive to try make current hw work too.
papa nutella had enough of phil's bullshit. cant blame him, its an incredible feat to burn 100billion to do worse than xbone.

It will be like a Steam deck or Switch. They will compete against Switch and Steam deck.
it will sell less than GameGear, of all the options the best is for Microsoft to assume itself as a third party, people don't want its products.

A Microsoft handheld will only prolong the existence of crossgen games as I doubt this device will have the power of the Series X.

It's not even top tier zen 2 CPUs in those machines ... they are some sad laptop/mobile CPUs that don't belong in a gaming machine.

ye I know it's about the power draw, but still... sad state of affairs

I suspect lots of AI focus in the next Xbox (especially their work with Qualcomm). We know that sony contracted AMD for at least 1-2 generations, any rumours like this about MS.

Just don't go conservative. We want a mean powerful fire breathing beast. No tv or sports integration. Just games and good ones!!

Apparently MS did end up signing a contract with AMD according to MLID which I don't know how accurate he is.
