NPD November 2012 Results [Up6: Black Ops 2, Halo 4, Most Wanted, Assassin's Creed 3]

It's funny how some people think:
More supply, not sold out = Failure
vs.
Less supply, sold out = Success
Wii U was sold out during the reporting period.

Ouch at Wonderbook. What a mess.
Anyhow, unless the Wii U takes off with casual through the holidays, I expect it's Feb 2013 onwards sales to be low and certainly not frenzy like as the Wii for the first couple of years.
MS while good numbers still need to replace the 2013 before becoming too stale.
Sony will not have a choice but to keep pace with MS and release the PS4.
Vita is obviously fucked after the holidays price drop or not.

How are these results for Vita and WiiU?
Nothing about the success of Halo 4 or AC3?
Hitman and PSASBR are bombas?

1 - Halo 4 - 3 > with bundles and < 3 without
2 - AC 3 - 360 and PS3 did more then 1 million each but no hard numbers were given buut best in the series
3 - Both of them are bomba
More decline in the 360 version as well

Halo 4 did more than 3m? I had no idea Halo sales were so top heavy in the US.
3DS had a bad BF, thus a meh month. It actually outsold all the others except for 360 during other weeks. Nintendo dropped the Ball badly this time, so much that DS outsold it for the period thanks to massive deals. At least, first half lineup should be pretty good.
I'd wait after December for judging Paper Mario, just saying
360 had a severe drop, but well over a million in its 7th year is astounding. Congrats MS

given the marketing budget that game had + the price drop 3 weeks after release + the fact that Square wants/wanted to turn the hitman name into their own AssCreed means that it not being in the top ten = bomb.

Love facts!! I think people are jumping the gun on trying to forecast this thing. The 3DS and WIIU are NOT, nor do they have to be the Ds and the Wii. They will be fine.

I'm surprised the 3DS numbers ended up that high with no appealing Black Friday bundle and new games. Not sure why Nintendo held off the Mario Kart/3DS XL one until after. At least December numbers look promising with all the deals going on now.
Not expecting much on PS Vita, though. I want to get one, but can't shake the feeling it's not going to last much longer :/

It really wasn't.
We should all remember that numbers in November are much higher than in other months. Last year Super Mario 3D Land wasn't in top 10, but it almost did 600k for the month, so maybe it's too soon to call Hitman: Absolution a bomba, no?

If Nintendo doesn't do something quick they may be looking at less than GCN marketshare in America this generation.
Expect 2013 to be a pretty grim year unless A) their marketing gets a hell of a lot better or B) they release a new Zelda or Metroid-scale title. Short of those two, 2013 is gonna be a bloodshed in the home console market. The 3DS will chug along, but it won't outdo the DS in terms of sales from generation to generation.

I don't believe he did. Like mentioned before, November is always a massive month and we don't know what fifa is at which is the cutoff point. Too early to say for now.

Number 10 was >243k, given Mario is out of the top 10 and had that amount.
Just on a sale, not permanent. Assassin's Creed has done the same thing the last couple of years.

It doesn't have the snappy dialogue of previous games? Damn. Bought it anyway and I'm sure it'll be fun, but the dialogue in mario RPGs recently has been a real highlight for me.

And the problem for Sony is black Friday only comes once a year.
Certainly a lower priced bundle seems to have some attraction, but it's hard to gauge if that interest would be sustained outside of the holiday period.
Playstation All Stars sold as expected (to a small group). Were any Wonderbook or Declassified numbers posted?
There were multiple stock replenishments within that week. The toys r us near me had new units on Friday and Sunday. Some of the targets in the area had new units Wednesday at the very least. You could spin it that it didn't sell out because stores briefly had stock during the week or you could even spin it that it sold out multiple times I guess. It's a dead horse at his point.

Yea Wii U need da games. I think any metroid, starfox, zelda whatever would be a good look. As long as it has some kinda western appeal meaning no nintendoland type aesthetic artistic approaches or something. Something that looks "dudebro" enough. Im sorry but thats what gotta happen for relevancy now a days.

360 at nearly twice every other ... is pretty clear, if you think about it. I was guessing around 700k from that for PS3

Well, that was a statement from greenberg, so of course he'll "play" with the numbers a bit.
His words can still be true for 750k PS3s, just depends on your definition of "nearly".
Just to make sure: wasn´t this number given for "north america" and not "US"?
