The assumption that digital purchases are governed by the same factors on both so a bigger install base would mean proportionately more sales.

Both consoles can be had for $250 at target. The real question is whether they both stay at $299 after poor January numbers.

Does anyone even know exactly what Recore is yet? All we've seen is that animated trailer back at E3. With no gameplay shown yet, are people really expecting this in the Spring?

What is the gap now in in the US between PS4 and X1?
I remember last year, it was 1.1 million going into November and December, and the X1 cut that nearly in half. This year, I believe it was about 800,000 going into November. Looks like it is back up to over a million gap, is that right?
It just seems that Sony has built the gap almost right back to where it was last year, and we still have December to go, and Star Wars hype and stuff. I just cannot believe that the PS4 has built the lead back up to nearly square one after getting dominated last Post Season.

I don't think Tomb Raider not charting is a big deal. I can't see it selling more than 300k on one console and more like 200k. If the cut-off point is around 500k it was never going to show even if it did extremely well. If I remember Infamous didn't chart, games like this on one system don't really.

Assuming a 200k gap, I believe it would be around 1 million right about now. Or ~1043k depending on the numbers. Don't have specific numbers unfortunately off hand.

What Sony should do is just keep the price at $299 from now on. Maybe around like fall 2016 release a "slim" version of the console for $250 and just go from there.

Officially they've not detailed it yet... Spring ends in mid-June next year which is still 7 months away and SO wasn't shown until May with an October launch.
I don't think Spring is that likely, I think it'll go to summer (probably later in summer) but them not showing it yet isn't saying much given some other titles.
