They sold their IP rights to MS just to publish? That's a bummer.
Yeah. The deal did get them a ton of exposure through Microsoft though, and visibility is important in a market so crowded with indie titles. Unless the game ends up warranting a sequel, it sounds like an acceptable trade offThey sold their IP rights to MS just to publish? That's a bummer.
You have my permission to wait for reviews.
A lot of people have asked about Trading Cards, Profile Backgrounds, etc. for the STEAM Release - All supported now!![]()

Where is my Xbox preload? Why is the game not even in the 'Coming Soon'-section?
Don't have XBONE but would like to play this on PC. Will a Dell i5 4460 with 8GB Ram and a Zotac 750ti run this well? Thanks.

Watched the two trailers up on the store (E3 2014 & Behind the Music). Preload isn't up yet but I'm definitely buying this day one. It looks brilliant.Store Page up on xbone
Ouch, that sucks for those guys.

It got them a lot of visibility. The E3 trailer picqued my interest in the game and I'll be buying day one. Without the spot at the Microsoft E3 conference I'm 99% I would not have paid any attention to this game because it would have been lost among the tons of other games that come out week by week.Ouch, that sucks for those guys.
I think it's the morning of March 9th, 2 days before release, but don't quote me on that.
Should be coming very, very soon
Should be possibleOri does use a lot of Fullscreen Effects to achieve its high contrast look, so if you have any issues, play it at a bit of a lower resolution. That said, I've been playing it on various notebook and the perf has been insanely optimized recently

I expect the console screenshot thread to explode with Ori stuff. I know I'm going to take taking dozens of screenshots as I play through it.I can only just imagine how delightful the achievement art is going to be.
Thanks for all of your input! I'll be getting this day one,
Quick question: are the 10 hr estimates based on a normal pace play through, without hunting down all collectibles, etc, or a 100% playthrough? Big difference, obviously.
Thanks.

Nah, we wouldn't have been able to make a game like Ori otherwise. I already have to tip my hat to Microsoft simply because it wasn't possible for most people (Including Koji Igarashi) to make a AAA Metroidvania... But Microsoft believed in our vision, funded Ori and did the distribution, so really, it was a really good deal fo rus and we're happy with our decision.
Microsoft has been putting a lot of weight behind Ori after E3 last year, so that's obviously a cool thing for us.
Also, I hope MS will end up doing more with the actual IP. I'd love to see Ori being adapted to film, comic books, etc. - I think the world we crafted has an enormous amount of potential and I hope they're making use of all the IPs they're grabbing![]()

It's the typical time it took our playtesters to complete the game, not even 100%ing everything. Some people spend 4-5 hours just in Act 1... Obviously, if you want to speedrun it, you can finish it much quicker.
