Rebirth, and Dragon's Dogma. Four games that desperately needed improvement.

They're probably busy playing quality first-party Microsoft software on their Xbox family of devices.

Im still waiting on playing quality Xbox first party exclusives. It’s a running meme at this point that it’s just one year out.

But when I do I’ll play them on the world’s most powerful console, chicken

I have got 75 inch Samsung 8k tv. Waste of money if you ask me as content in native 8k is almost non-existent.

The real use of it should be PC gaming at resolutions above 4K. Not just 8K but creating and using custom true 16:9 resolutions that exist between 4K and 8K.

I saw what I needed to see from the Pro with Alan Wake 2, Survivor, Rebirth, and Dragon's Dogma. Four games that desperately needed improvement. Three out of four of them have serious issues with the Pro. Not good.
The inconsistencies have solidified my choice of never buying pro consoles and simply waiting for the next numbered one. I’m glad I never bought the PS4 Pro and now I’m about to be glad I didn’t bother with the PS5 Pro.

PS6 is the way.

a handful of poor rushed patches that still look better than any other console port vs. tons of patches that are excellent

PS5 pro is a fantastic console that will only get better over time as support starts earlier in development

Yeah, if you skipped PS4 Pro, which was a very nice upgrade over the base, PS5 Pro is an easy pass.

You’re right, and that support is going to be much more beneficial to me when I boot up my Playstation 6 for the first time.

Thats fine. I’ll be getting ps6 day 1 as well, but not to play games released prior to ps6 launching

I’ll be enjoying titles for the next 4 years as they release on the Pro in a much better version compared to base consoles

They want you to beta test PSSR.

Already have and it looks sensational on the vast majority of titles

It works out anyway because I am usually behind on playing most modern game releases anyway. I have played quite a few PS4 games this generation on PS5 at a quarter of the launch price.

I think it's great that they're playing around with possibilities and pushing boundaries. But as an 8k panel owner, I'll still be playing it in its 4k output mode. So that kind of tells you all you need to know. But as I've said before, I love the upscale that my TV does with 4k content. Definitely need the bigger screen sizes though to appreciate it.

That thumbnail....jfc

I'm joined by my fwend and colleague R6Rider in the dissapointment at the new thumbnails... But it's a YouTue algowithm requiwement. It's been twuly twansformative for the thumbnail game, and Wichard is not exempt. Unless Digital Foundwy follow suite, they'll be overtaken by tech amateurs who don't posses the full fat knowledge in the here and now. The wesults speak for themselves.

8k is beautiful. The image clarity is awesome and I think if there was more adoption of 8k tvs in the marketplace, and more games ran at that resolution I think you’d see more people singing its praises.

But as it stands we are still struggling to get games looking good at 4k. Upscale techniques like FSR struggle to do a good job of convincingly displaying a 4k image. Hell the performance hit 8k would take is too much.

All that said, it’s a chicken and egg thing, what comes first… 8k content or 8k tv adoption? It’s good that someone is starting to push the option.

I have sometimes dreamed about creating a YouTube/chrome plugin that automatically blocks allvideos with stupid exaggerated thumbnail faces.

I could change the world for the better.
It exists already, from the creator of Sponsorblock. It's called DeArrow and can replace both titles and thumbnails. For titles you can submit alternative titles for clickbait or just let it clean up the title and take out block caps. For thumbnails is can replace with an automatically generated one or pick a random frame.

I gotta try that. So you can block a title containing the keyword "insane" for instance.
