But it's been 15 years.

I can't care anymore, since Valve themselves haven't cared for the past 15 years. Not finishing Episode 3 felt disrespectful to the fans that came to love that series. Them going to Half Life 3 should normally feel even worse, but it's been 15 years. It doesn't feel like anything.

It is kind of sad seeing all the "mind blowing" reactions here, because there's a strong sense of arrested development to this whole thread. I'm not saying people shouldn't be excited, god forbid. It is an open question if Valve still have the old magic. Artifact was a bomb. Alyx was a niche AA game aimed mainly at kickstarting VR (a failure), and retconning the ending of HL2. Deadlock seems to have no legs. People just don't like it that much.
