Sony has filed DMCA to Lance McDonald to Remove the Bloodborne 60fps Patch

It's not like Sony wants you cracking their consoles. No console maker does.

I don't see how this patch existing hurts Sony, unless of course they are releasing a remaster or something along those lines. They could be being petty, but I don't see why they would give a shit unless there was something to lose financially. Also, this patch has been available for ages, makes no sense to do this now.

With this in mind, I'd expect to see a Bloodborne announcement at the next State of Play.
 
Amusingly, I think the patch was first applied to the PS4 Pro, before emulation of PS4 was possible on PC. And it was done so very openly and publicly. So Sony had zero problem with it for that many years until now...

As others have said, hope this means an official remaster (not another Bluepoint art style destruction), instead of them just being salty about ShadPS4 and all its recent attention.
 
Thanks God, this illegal pc approach doesn't work on consoles!

Only official developers have a right to patch games, build hardware or release emulators!

Shit like this should be illegal. And with "like this" I mean corporations abusing their power/wealth to intimidate people into complying with whatever bullshit their board thought up, even if their legal standing is "shaky" at best (which they 100% know).

Of course it won't be, ever, since corporate america loves SLAPP cases and such, and DMCA is basically foreplay to that.

I was very against all this port begging and fake rumors bullshit. But after seeing how low Sony can get, I don't even care. Hope it blows away in their face as same as Nintendo going after small fishes.
 
It's already been done and will always be available. Good. Lance did outstanding work, and it's a mod that STILL requires PS4 Pro hardware. So, it feels weird to go directly after this considering all the other stuff that's out there.
 
Maybe with the slight management shake up they decided to recoup some costs with a quick 60fps release? Probably not though, please wait for Horizon off limits east and horizon chibi.
 
That's not what DMCA is for, unless the patch contains content for the original game. Blatant lawfare abuse from Sony? Like, if they went to court for this they would lose.
