Xbox has the games. Sony has the sales. How???

Because they are releasing their games everywhere, Why would I buy their console if I can purchase a Ps5 and play everything there? There is no point, it will be too late when they realise.

Xbox has been killing it with 1st party titles in the last year but HW sales have gone down.
Sony had Concord and somehow it’s destroying Xbox in HW sales.

How is the even legal?
Buying half the industry helps sales

Sony is ahead of the curve. MS doesn't really has games, at least no games you can only play on Xbox.

As far as consoles go, you need a PS5 for Stellar Blade, Wukong, Baldurs Gate, FF Rebirth, (for a good while), SH2 and the PS Studios exclusives in general. MS bought itself in and got Starfield, Indy and Redfall this way but they didn't really change the perception and they were on PC day one. Sony simply makes more waves and their strategy works better for selling consoles. This is a fact.

Xbox doesn't just need games, they need GOOD games, to make a difference now.

They need the next Halo to deliver. But can they?

I may be slightly out but without activation and Bethesda games Microsoft developed 2 games last year that weren’t remasters

Flight simulator 2024 and Hellblade 2

Makes sense. It's been around a year since Microsoft muddled the future of Xbox consoles and basically said not to buy one. Which drove a slow but steady exodus to PlayStation that's ongoing. Then they also started releasing games on PlayStation. They're doing a great job of selling PS5s.

Astrobot, stellar blade and ff7 rebirth kill everything that xbox has released...

What are people smoking to make these threads
Throw in Ronin and Wukong even. While Sony’s first party isn’t great they get a ton of titles.

Xbox so far released 3 good to great games this gen that are console exclusive (not for long). COD is available everywhere.

Indy, Flight Sim (buggy af and mainly PC), and Forza Horizon 5. Avowed just came out but it’s pretty average (good for GamePass). Starfield was mid.

Add in that everything is Day 1 on PC and “free” on GamePass and we get Xbox approach to gaming.

Somewhere, a timeline existed where Microsoft didn't sacrifice the backend of the 7th gen to a fad motion gaming peripheral, didn't screw up the 8th gen releasing an under-powered console with said fad motion peripheral forced in while gamers were also building digital ecosystems, only released the Series X, changed first party single-player Gamepass from day/date to 6 months so that consumers aren't trained to not buy games, didn't fuck up the launch of Halo Infinite, didn't have a bone dry 2022, didn't buy Activision, didn't port their games to their chief market rival, didn't fuck up Redfall and under-deliver Starfield and HellBlade 2, didn't close down the studio that released their most acclaimed game then circle back and say they need more games like the aforementioned acclaimed one, didn't release Indiana Jones too late in the awards season while also announcing the release date for your competitor the same day and taking the momentum out of their version, and released Doom Dark Ages, Avowed, Fable, Gears E-day, and Perfect Dark before 2025 before the ship had completely sailed( and assuming most/all of those land critically). In this alternate reality they were selling about 50 million consoles to the PS5's 65 million as of Feb 2025 and not being the perpentual butt of jokes for an entire generation.

The TVA pruned that timeline out of existence, and here we are.

They sprinkled some games into their mix after a decade of fucking around, and even then half of their portfolio was bought up with Bill Gates money instead of being actually developed by Microsoft. At this point, Playstation is long established the go-to-machine if you're interested in any sort of 3rd party product. You can cry all you want that Sony conferences are full of multiplat titles, but neither Xbox or Switch are the places your average Joe will be playing GTA, Monster Hunter Wilds and probably even Doom Eternal.

That man had a weird hate boner for Sony

The Xbox 20th anniversary documentary devoted a whole episode to it. Sony back then named their gaming company "Sony Computer Entertainment" and the official name of the PS2 was the PlayStation 2 Computer Entertainment System. Back in 1999-2000 Sony was trying to invade the PC space and intended for the PS2 to replace PCs. That threat to Windows caused that hatred.

The Sony fanboying on this forum is exceptional. You would think these were the Official PlayStation Forums.

Sony is doing a bad job. The reception to their State of Play shows are continuously bad and all they do is put themselves before the players. You. But sure, be a cuck and suck it up.

Fuck me. Microsoft delivering big time. Show us your cock Microsoft.
Sony can learn a LOT from Microsoft. At least Microsoft has actual games.

And none of that live service BS nobody asked for.

I have all consoles and have for a long time my dear friend. A fan of gaming is what I am. #teamgaming.

Microsoft doing well is good for us as fans and the industry. There's too much Microsoft bashing here. They have great games lined up this year for everyone to enjoy.

When I bought the PS5 I was hoping Sony would repeat it's PS3/4 releases and surprises. Their output has slowed down and there are too many remakes.

There is nothing wrong with me, as a paying customer, being disappointed.

The Bar is so low for xbox. I remember people over rating the shit out of the year halo infinite released saying it was a great year. It wasn't great at all if you actually had any standards. When I started playing halo infinite, i started laughing my ass off at how bad it was and people wonder why xbox is dead? Its dead because fans were ok with mediocrity for 10 years straight and then start having a wank the moment there's just one half decent game.

Who cares about awards mate. It's about how the player base feels. If you have any awareness, you would know that most fans are disappointed about Sony's output and future plans.
Those forum warriors living in a bubble? They are irrelevant whiners.
Sony real playerbase feels just fine, record results is a proof of that.
Actual players do care about rewards, it shows the quality of proposition and reinforce choice of platform. And award wins draw attention to a good games.
Just look at TGA - Astrobot win heavily impacted it's sales

The numbers are indeed ok. But there's also disappointment among fans. Big time.

Two things can be true at the same time.
