I missed the "of" the first time I read this, and yet, when I went back and read it correctly, it wasn't any less unsettling.
That doesn't even make sense.

Is this a zombie? 1 - 13 (engDub) rewatch
Had actually never seen the first episode nor the ova episodes in 13, but was really funny. Liked the dub as Ayumu (sounds like Accelerator in Index) has a good voice for the role and personality well. Sarah's voice is perfect too and actually changing eng va's for Eu was really well. Dont know why I like this anime so much, well I guess cause Ayumu and all he goes through and Orito is consistently hilarious.

I'm surprised someone hasn't noticed that... it's been something I've been wondering about since the beginning of the series. From an in-universe perspective, I've assumed it's a cantus-shaped artificial monument designed to aid navigation. There's certainly a lot of symbolic potential there as well. Another way to look at it is as a representation of how cantus has turned the entire world upside down.

Watching them all together would make it easier, but then again your head might explode from all the content.

If I feel really, really up for it I'll try tackling Seriguchi's reading/vision of his own writings at the start of episode five of Mouyrou no Hako. It's got symbolism coming out all over the place and I'm sure it ties into the later story. However, I feel like it might be explained later on.

Rather than a fabricated from nothing and opportunist product, I'd say this is Mr. Yamashita given free reign to show his most desired dreams. I certainly want to see more 'cash cow' products with concepts and illustrations (his own ones) of such quality.
It's what happens when you have mandatory certification for video content, and it's presumably there for those occasions when something is being sold (or more likely, resold) without it's original packaging.
It's pretty annoying for everyone involved, at least in terms of the UK anime industry. If it wasn't there, there's a fair chance we'd be far nearer parity in terms of releases with Australia - as things stand, it's pretty common for Manga to share mastering costs with Aus distributors when it comes to titles that they both have licenses to, and it's pretty common for the other companies who distribute over here to buy Aus masters for their releases post-fact. The only way MVM got Broken Blade out on BD over here is because they actually managed to convince the Aus distro to put the BBFC logo on the disk as in that case it was particularly beneficial for both parties to share the costs on that, and the disks available over here were physically shipped over from Australia.
Generally, though, it ends up being the case that, whilst they save on remastering costs, the UK distributor has to do a completely separate print run purely for over here, and that gets problematic when you start to figure in minimum print runs. Coupled with the actual expense of submitting titles to the BBFC for certification (which can be expensive, particularly for the quantities that anime typically sells), that can be enough to take anime releases out of being realistically profitable.

One Piece Film Z dethroned Rebuild 3.0 in the box office. Clearly, khara is doomed. They should go third party.
Backlog posts are great, but they traditionally don't generate as much discussion as things that are currently-airing. The post deficit from backlog season ending should hopefully be negated by the increase in discussion-worthy programming.
At this point, I personally don't find that there's significantly more in Spring that I'll be watching than I'd been watching in Winter, but I expect to be in the minority on this. I hope it's a great season.
Speaking of which, I just ordered the first two Rebuild movies. If the opinions of this thread are anything to go by, it'll be interesting to see how quickly I can destroy all that goodwill, having just finished the original series.

That was...............enjoyable?!? Mana is still boring (and I'll keep saying this every week until she isn't), but somehow she still manages to have good chemistry with Rikka, primarily because Rikka acts as a counterbalance to Mana's lack of inhibition and forethought. And really, I like her as a character even apart from the interaction and antics. She's sensible, intelligent, and has thus far actually reacted to the whole Precure thing in the way that any normal person would--she was initially intent on finding a scientific explanation for it, and after she failed to do so, she was deeply suspicious of the motives of the dude handing out the transformation devices instead of unflinchingly accepting her destiny as savior of an unseen land of cute little creatures in another dimension like virtually every other Cure ever.
There's already an interesting undercurrent of loneliness in Rikka's character, too--her father is traveling abroad and her mother's busy work schedule prevents her from being home much, and there are actually a few interesting instances of nonverbal emphasis on how isolated and lonely Rikka is. We see her sitting silently in empty rooms, see her staring at walls of souvenirs that her father has sent, and, at night, we see that only her window is illuminated when looking at her home from outside. Mana being the only person with which she has regular contact explains a lot about Rikka's protective attitude, although there's a flashback sequence in the episode that implies as much anyway. Rikka's situation would actually make a pretty good springboard for the selfishness theme if she ends up feeling threatened by Alice and Makoto, but I doubt that the show ever goes that avenue.
Anyway, boring transformation, boring attack, but the theme is really growing on me. Geneijin is probably vindicated once the team is assembled and we get to hear it unedited. The MotW battle this week was doomed to be lame because new Cures typically oneshot their MotW to showcase their power, but the dude that the Jikochu was summoned from was pretty hilarious. "Fucking bitches mailing greeting cards. I never get greeting cards! Wait, that's kind of petty of me. Is this why I never get laid?"
Okay, some rapid-fire commentary (with pictures):
- The mascots are carnivorous. Noted.
- It's rare that they recognize in-universe how ridiculous the costumes are but I love it when they do.
- Lookin' kinda Pablo there for a second.
- I've noticed that the show is really fond of this expression.
- For Regulus: Erikaface returns! (kinda)
- For a brief moment in the transformation, Rikka has Marine hair ;_;
- Next week already reeks of yellow precure bias. Just look at these expressions. Good episode incoming?

I personally think I'll watch more next season than this one, but I always say that and later trim what I'm watching to two or three series. There are a lot of interesting shows next season though.
I'm especially interested in Yahari etc. (The Twitter account is calling it Orgairu so that's probably what I'll call it) because it's by a new director and Brains Base. There are a lot of things I'm interested in like Shingeki no Kyojin, Oreimo 2, Date a Live, and Arata Kangatari, but for some reason I'm really interested in seeing if Oregairu turns out good or bad. I liked how the manga started off, so that might be why.

The stands on those ChibiArts Heartcatch figures are actually pretty crummy - I had a headache trying to get them to stand properly with the parts I wanted to use.
