Rumor: Dragon’s Dogma 2 Reportedly Runs At 30FPS On PS5 & Xbox Series S|X

Get a pc you poors
You'll have to live your entire life accepting that millions of people don't want to do this.

Besides you should be happy right now as consoles are literally still protecting the wall as the old guard, because if consoles all die, guess which platform on the other side of that wall is next up as the golden boy? Hint: The answer is not PC.

If it's a full-on ground-up next-gen game that truly pushes the boundary, I am fine with this. This is how it normally goes traditionally with big games on consoles that come mid-late cycle that take full advantage.

Eh? Have you seen the previews? It doesn't look that much different from the PS4 version (which was a port of the PS3 game). The disappointing visuals made this game go from must-buy to wait.

Doesn't bode well for Monster Hunter Wilds running at 60fps either. Well, what is there left to say besides "You get what you pay for."

What are you talking about. It looks fantastic

No buy if true. I just started playing Avatar Frontiers yesterday and it's gorgeous at 60fps. Some devs put in the effort and others don't but the ones who do get my money.

PC it is.. i hope my rtx 3080 runs this on highest possible setting

Why would you hope that a game in 2024 would run at max settings on a card from 2020?

If true then I feel for my console brethren. Truly. I didn't think we'd regress back to 30fps so quickly. That said...

If you ever defended 30fps for any reason whatsoever, especially if it came from a Sony or Nintendo game then..

30fps for a game like this isn't the worst thing. The combat seems kind of slow and somewhat simple? The world building and exploration is what will make this game good or not

Game's gonna be amazing. CPU limitations were my first thought when I saw the thread title. If you're going to cry about it, get a fuckin PC.
30fps didn't become common until the 360/PS3 gen. Before than 60fps was more common.
So.. the last 18 years then? Fact of the matter is, for almost two DECADES, 30fps gaming has been pretty common- and pretty amazing. You'd think Bloodborne was a gift from god, and the damn thing was 30fps. That didn't stop anyone from enjoying the hell out of it.

CONSOLE COPE [OT] "I spent $500 dollars on a system that says "8K" on the box
and pre-ordered the game day one 30FPS isn't so bad after all guyz"

Could have told you this back in 2020, once the cross-gen period ends, expect more new games shipping with just 30 FPS modes.

What the hell is this? There no more excuses for poorly optimized games. Tool sets have advanced as well as hardware, and yet we still have devs thinking they can swindlle the console owners into buying this type of crap. Ridiculous....

Even games that were pushing the limit of graphics. SoulCalibur on Dreamcast was a flawless 60 fps in 1999 and looked way better than anything on PC or in arcades at the time.

You're talking about graphics. I'm talking about the overall game. There's way more going on in games like this than what you see on the screen.

Lmao you guys can't be serious with these replies 😂 Are you one of those elitists who jerk of in front of a fps counter ?!

Is preferring "full 4k" any less "elitist" then preferring higher frame rates?

No 60fps mode would just be a mistake for a fast-paced game like this

As a reminder, I played some AC: Origins prior to Ubisoft releasing their 60 fps patch. Amazing to me what a huge difference 60 fps makes. So I hope this rumor isn't true.

lol this is funny. as I expected if a 3600x barely gets 30 fps, you will need upwards of 5800x 3d to hit rock solid 60 fps with decent %1 lows

naturally they cannot even give recommendations for 60 fps specs because then chaos would ensue over forums

"We once had steaks but since we've been stuck with McDonald's hamburgers for 18 years we need to convince ourselves that steak sucked".

The drama queens are out because console players don't want games to go backwards after opening up the pandora's box known as 'performance mode'.

It's like giving a kid a shiny new christmas toy and then yanking it away from their hands.
Please, there were 60 FPS games for decades

People got used to less ambitious cross gen games that didnt push bounderies.

Now we are deep into the gen and devs will push for 30 again. People want more ambitious games but dont want to pay the price for it.

RE 4, MGS 3, Black and many of the best games of the PS2/GC era were 30

PS1/N64 could barely hold 20

Just looking at the graphics in the trailer, it's probably a CPU thing like Gotham Knights. Unless the trailer just isn't doing the graphics justice.

Idk how much better it would run on my pc. Either way, my wife will want.to play it on console and I ain't buying it twice. I'll live.

I will never buy a 30fps only game again on a console. It's 2024 if your engine can't support 60fps your engines shit and your artistic style is shit. Unless it's a point and click or turn based game I never want to see another 30fps game. Sure as hell won't pay 69.99 for that either.
