Avowed |OT| Is an oath worth the weight of a crown?

There is some shanenigans with the enemy level in this game, you can't have bosses and enemies with 3 skulls in such early missions, even if i explore everything, kill everything and do every sidequest i still don't have enough materials to upgrade everything to level 3 or even 2, like the game kinda want you to experiment with different loadouts but upgrade costs are a bit high so it's hard to chose what to upgrade and you end by not upgrading anything :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I heard shill up and acg talking about this problem but in the hardest difficulty is even more pronounced because enemies are super tanky, i feel like i'm almost always 1-2 levels behinds.

Other than that it's a fun game, but i would really love if there were some marks on enemies or some gore, it would make look the combat even better.

Are you breaking down weapons you don't want for their materials?

You weren't able to level it up to a Fine Wand or buy one in Paradis? I'm still in the first area in I was able to level up two of my Common Daggers into Fine Daggers.
Fine is still not enough for some encounters that are very early.

I fought a 3 skull story boss and i was tickling his balls with my weapons, he died with a smile in his face :messenger_pensive:

Some of them, i'm keeping 2 of every type of weapon because i'm still ciclying all of them to understand what i want to upgrade.

Ok. Also are you using the crafting section of the workbench to turn weaker materials into stronger materials? For the Aldra a lot of it i just bought from vendors

I'm the type of guy that usually never bother with crafting in rpgs, i like to use what i find during exploration or win against bosses or rewards for quests etc. but it seems like i have to recalibrate myself a bit for this game, dismantling and crafting seems paramount in avowed.

I knew I wanted a dual dagger crit fishing build. Now it's turning into a flaming crit build.

It’s so weird, I had a dream about playing this game in VR the other night and it was amazing.

I have very exciting dreams obviously

Yeah this game is seeing amazing progress. After my post a specific profile was made that runs even better than the video I posted. That's less than 24 hours and 10-15fps better performance and less glitches.

This game is a win for VR and the standard version isn't even out yet.

I am liking the combat. I am still in the tutorial area. You even run into a person that you can't really trust.

The combat seems fairly complex. The lizard men keep bashing me with their shields.

I'm surprised there's not a Gamepass OT of some kind. I can't seem to figure out how to log into it on my laptop, it keeps telling me it's the wrong account in the microsoft store. Anyone else have this issue or is it a problem to try to play on two different PCs at different times?

GamePass thread

Different PC’s should be fine, maybe it is defaulting to someone else’s account on the other PC.

Ohh okay, I was searching for "GamePass OT" so that's why I couldn't find it, thanks!

I have a feeling that if Elder scrolls 6 delivers in the full open world emergent gameplay as usual, peoples will complain that Avowed's combat was much better/fluid and they should have copied it :messenger_beaming: Maybe microsoft should have the studios start sharing the cool parts between studios.

All these Dying Light mobility comparisons..

Is the jump button R1? Is there stamina? Do you see yourself pulling up onto ledges?

I've heard many say wizard if the best play style and most powerful. Agree or disagree?

A lot of peoples recommend it yea. Mortismal's path of the damned build was wizard. Basically this is the best FPS wizard combat in an RPG ever. But plenty of builds work too, dual guns seem almost OP. But I like the flashy magic effects honestly, I'll have magic in my build for sure.

Level 7 at the moment. Dawning an axe that can freeze water. I can walk across the lake with it. That’s something TES needs. I’m also using a bow. Those level 11 enemies take a bit to down. The game feels great after a couple side quests. Best part is it’s much more rewarding during exploration than Veilguard was. I’m about over that entire game at this point. I just took out some crime boss and now their gang around the city ambushes me in random areas.

I’m liking the bow a lot more. I started with the wand. Placing points in Dex is a must. I can see why the developer said putting points in Dex is all you need to do.

I’m like some archer/warrior/minor missile character. I haven’t found a solid foot on what my class actually excels at. That’s why I’m dumping all my points in Dex for faster attacks.

Ended up playing about 6-ish hours last night night after redeeming rewards points to get Xbox gift cards. Went with the Balanced graphics and clicked unlock framerate (series X version).

So far runs great, looks really damn good, and I’m having fun. Right now I’m using a big fuck off axe as a weapon, though I’ve tried others.

How do people like it so far? The reviews I saw seemed pretty consistent. Good solid game, but not a great game, and they expected a little more from Obsidian, but it was still fun to play even with its flaws.

I’m really enjoying it so far. Combat seems decently fun with the different abilities and dodging and stuff

Great use for the Xbox Elite controller shift function in this game. I set LB to shift, which when held down, changes the ABXY buttons to the directional pad shortcuts. I can do spells or commands while I keep moving with left stick.

The game is available tomorrow by changing to New Zealand region most probably. I'll play it and post my impressions, I just got papipass on pc for very cheap

Dont kill me if I criticize the game papitos
hmmmmmmmm

I need to do the math and find out the earliest I could play it west coast

I'm not 100% certain it has the new-zealand hack, the early access didn't at least, it was a global launch. Gonzito Gonzito , you saw it somewhere that its a trick that will work?

Fucking hell, I just realized I didn't watch Fextralife's review

Well usually with many gamepass games it works like that. I have done it many times myself. Usually you just have to change the region of the computer settings and then it works. If I find out more information about Avowed's particular case I'll post it here
