So I’ve been playing this on my daughter’s Xbox Series X that I “appropriated” until my new GPU arrives on Monday. I’ve had zero crashes or technical hiccups so far playing on balanced mode, can anyone say how it is on PC in terms of stability?

I'm not having any major issues. I've had three loading screen freeze. But you can set the game to autosave periodically at any time duration you want. It also autosaves every time you go to camp and fast travel.

i tired it on two pcs, one of them a 13600k with a 4080, all maxed out zero issues. the other on a mini pc in my bedroom with a 3060ti, zero issues. so on my end i can say pc if you have the hardware, its smooth sailing

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Are you capping the fps?

In the DF video, Alex showed that after he ran the game with a 60hz cap, it kinda eliminated all stuttering for him. Including the traversal one, or at least that's what he made it sound like.

Blasphemous I know but anyone played/tried in 3rd person - thinking of giving this a go on my pc but I suffer from simulation sickness and can’t play ANYTHING fps for longer than 5 minutes before

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

I tried it, and it's... okay. The character movement is extremely janky - especially when vertical movement is involved (jumping / platforming). It's serviceable, but not exactly great.

From what I've seen, it looks just a touch above Bethesda RPG's in third person. The option is there but I would never use it, personally.

Unfortunately I'm a bit like CLW CLW in that first person mode gives me the pukes. So I guess I'll see if I'm gonna be able to stick this one out.

I feel like this game would have reviewed better if it wasn't an Obsidian game. It sounds like a pretty fun action game, where the combat and exploration are fun, but the story and characters are very hit or miss. As long as the combat is better than The Outer Worlds and the game has good combat progression, I should like it. Excited to play Tuesday

From what I’ve seen the fps movement (arms for example) looked janky when climbing to me

Admittedly, I'm tempted to sign up for whatever cheapest level of Gamepass you need to play this for one month, download and run through it however mid it may potentially be, and just cancel Gamepass. Since there's no physical disc... there's no point to pull me toward the full price retail.

It's janky and looks straight out of the late 90s/early 2000s. The game is ok so far but the animation sure looks dated

Combat was my least favorite part of Outer Worlds, not that it was bad. Combat in this game is incredibly fun even at the start when you have piss poor weapons and low level spells. I can’t imagine how good it will be when you’re powered up and have companions and better spells.

I feel even more tempted than 2 hours ago after seeing that it says 14 days of Gamepass for $1... Indiana Jones and Avowed finished in two weeks? Sounds like a challenge to me... :messenger_grinning_squinting::messenger_grinning_squinting:

Is it social media exaggeration or can you attack city npcs without getting a reaction and steal things right in front of their nose?

Yes, this game seems unfortunately not to be Pillars universe version of Skyrim, but it could still be cool for what it is.

But as you say, IMO, Kingdom Come is heir to the Elder Scrolls game style.

This game is about combat(which is better than most first person action-rpg games), exploration(there is tons of hidden stuff with meaningful rewards), and story(especially if you're already invested in POE).

Hit the 7 hour mark and level 8. Got another companion and the game is sending me to another big city I guess. Still got a lot to explore in the first area. I assume in the second area is where I will find more advanced upgrade materials because I can’t find SHIT in the first area except Adrea or something.

Is there a way to cycle through consumables on the quick action menu? LB on Xbox IIRC. Sometimes I just want to top off my health and the first item is rabbit that is way overkill.

Still very much loving the exploration and movement. It’s so satisfying hearing the hum of nearby loot and platforming your way to it.

Story still seems really good, too. Tons of interesting lore.

Never delivered that lesbian break up letter.

Game is chefs kiss. Combat is fluid and difficult at higher settings. Movement is amazing. ANYONE saying anything bad about the combat / movement / frame rate / story and yet praise Bloodborne should just log off.

Is it enough? I get bored with too much dialog or poor story. So is it fun to just fight and explore?

I’m four hours in and really have no desire to play anymore. About the same amount of time before I lost interest in veilguard. It’s just so bland and lifeless. Nothing to pull you back. Idk. I really wanted to like it.
Ok. Now try forspoken. That would be a good test :D

You can craft better materials from weaker materials at the workbench.

Obsidian said they intentionally didn't want to replicate Skyrim. But internet trolls don't care about facts and context.

But that is not what Avowed, as it currently exists, is going to be. "I think over the course of time as we worked on it… Bethesda makes an awesome Skyrim. Mojang makes an awesome Minecraft, and Turn10 makes awesome racing games," says Urquhart, referencing a handful of Obsidian's sister studios at Microsoft. "What we do is we make our awesome RPGs, right?"

The feeling, then, was that Obsidian were better served not following Bethesda's example of a grand, open world, but instead staying true to what an Obsidian game should be. "That's when we backed up and said again: What are we good at? What's our lane?" That core, for Urquhart, is Obsidian's dedication to storytelling. "Outer Worlds is the greatest, latest example of that, and even Pillars. Pillars is less linear than Outer Worlds, but it's still a game that has you go through a story. And [Pillars of Eternity] 2 was even less linear, but still again you have this core story as you're going."

For Avowed, the focus is going to be specifically on your companions, and how their story relates to the driving narrative of the game. "We could go off and create an 8km x 8km open world and then deal with all the consequences of that—because that makes it a different style game. But we want to tell more confined stories that the player can experience with their companions, and then move from part of the world to part of the world. And, like I said, in the end, that's us."

Bruh, I just posted something I found as funny and you went full spamming with irrelevant quotes. Pull a stick out of your ass for once

It's true. No meaningful reaction. If you are looking for that there is always Kingdom Come 1 & 2, Starfield, or playing through Skyrim again.

I just got done with KCD 1 a few days ago but unless KCD 2 changed something, most if not all NPCs will respawn after a few days of killing them, which is jarring. Still cool they allow the freedom. But for true “village killing” then elder scrolls is up there as top tier to permanently wipe a town. Guards keep popping up though unless modded.

I can’t believe they didn’t try to have NPC reactions to stealing or killing them or a daily routine. Feels like a previous director probably tried and it was canned afterwards to focus on certain aspects.

If it was CDPR they would eventually patch it but I think this is what avowed will remain as…

I expected nothing from this game, but there is a lot of positivity in this thread. Seems like I will have to try the game after all. It just have to wait after I'll finish KCD2.

Mister Wolf Mister Wolf how long does it take for the time of day to change? Crazy how many peoples I see in the first area with full bright sun. I think I would enjoy mostly playing at dusk/dawn/night personally.

I can't give you exact time, but it feels like the day could be around 30 minutes long. The thing is that when you rest at the camp, have convos with your companions and upgrade your stuff, you start the next day early in the morning. So, that is why it feels like most of your playtime I spent during the day.

Can't exit camp without time resetting?

They should patch that. Give the option to talk to peoples and then leave to explore at night.
