I don't know how some of you have so much trouble in the Crucible. I seem to get a ton of kills or even finish first in my team and I'm not even trying. Sometimes I just finish first while doing complicated bounties (get 15 headshots with the Sniper rifle) or when spending the first half of the game thinking about something else or reading NeoGAF. I don't read strategy guides, I don't plan anything and I even do moves that would be considered dangerous. Yet I still manage to kill a lot of people, do the objecives and winning :/

You are probably just good at FPS games. Even with the supers, just knowing how to stick with your team, hold a position, aim well, exploiting the range advantages of typical guns, and getting the jump on dudes still wins the game.

Time to death actually feels longer from what I remember in the beta.

Wow. A legendary engram dropped and this popped out. My first exotic!

This gun is sick to use. First handcannon I have that my guardian hits the hammer at the back with each shot. So badass.

So killing a few enemies then killing yourself to respawn, over and over again, is fun to some people?

Unfortunately you have better chances of getting good loot grinding that way instead of finishing the strike.

I mostly do it to get to a good point to hit the next level of difficulty and then rinse/repeat the cycle.

I hope Bungie goes the Diablo and Borderlands way and actually have the strike boss spew out a load of loot after you defeat it. It's a hell of a lot more satisfying when you're grinding even if you don't get anything you can use.

I finish first most of the time too, but I still manage to lose A LOT. That's what bothers me. If I'm not playing with friends I've been in games where I've had upwards of 30 kills and still lost by a significant amount.

Guys the companion app or bungie.net can help you in a couple of your questions

Log onto Bungie.net, select "Legend" option, then view "Advisers", and you will see countdowns

A guy went to orbit before I could inspect him. He was 100% black, what shader?

And I have 100 Crucible marks but not high enough to spend them. Do they bank or reset?

Alright, another legendary engram! What sort of rare item will I get this time?

edit: Hells yeah! A level 16 helmet! Just what I wanted.

Yeah, they really need to patch that out of the game. What stupid idiot thought it would be a good idea?

"I know! Instead of blues decrypting as blues or better, and legendaries decrypting as legendary or better, we should have some of them decrypt as worse items to piss our players off! Raise the drop rates a little to balance things back out, and that's a whole load of depression added to the game!"

Genius, Bungie.

Sweet, got a recipe for an exotic weapon, I just gotta visit Xur and... GOD DAMMIT!

I thought he would be there Sunday as well :(

I have all legendary or higher weapons now, I just need my legendary chest and boots.

Is there a good way to farm ascendent shards and relics?

Someone was complaining n the previous thread about an exotic bounty that required you to get a k/d spread of 25 in Crucible. Wasn't sure if that really meant in one match or if it could be spread across matches. Like f you got a k/d ratio of 1 in 25 matches you'd be good to go. Otherwise, why use spread? Unless that was just his word. 25 k/d in one match seems like it'd be impossible. Unless you managed to be super sneaky, kill 25 or so guys, and hid your ass for as long as you could. lol

Also kinda wish there was a way to tell how many Light points you need to level. Just seems like you equip as much as you can and just be like whatever. lol.

It's called Crucible gear because... you need to play Crucible to get that gear, lol.

Just like with Vanguard gear, you need to play the Vanguard Strikes to earn marks towards Vanguard equipment.

You join a faction by purchasing a class item (Warlock bond, Titan sash, Hunter cloak) and equipping it while doing Crucible or Vanguard stuff, then you earn points each time you complete an event towards that faction. You aren't stuck with one faction, though you should look into which faction you'd like to join based on your class build (INT, STR, DIS) since they offer different combinations of those stats with their gear.

Shores of Time is still one of the best maps, tho.

Damn!

Good to know. What should I go with? I'm a Titan.

That would be ridiculous. Most I've gotten is 22.0, and that was against some absolutely terrible kids in salvage with a full team of my own.

I finished this bounty fairly quickly. It most definitely is not 25 k/d spread but I'm still not sure what I did.

Was easy and quick either way, just play.

I don't know why I keep playing this game. I waste my time doing the incredibly tedious and boring strike playlist over and over just to find disappointment at the rewards screen. Nothing in this game benefits people who actually contribute or care to progress through the game, every single aspect is pure RNG. I've played F2P games with less grinding and repetition than this. Every single mission can be boiled down to hoard mode with bullet sponge bosses 'n friends. I have no interest in competitive multiplayer, but because of the imbalance in loot distribution based on time and effort, the best way to gain gear is AFKing in PVP matches while I make a sandwich. I can't even do some of the content thanks to the apparent lack of matchmaking for something as simple as weekly's. I only have 2 friends that play this game, and it's not like they are available at all times to do anything.

I'm level 25 with 1 legendary armor piece that I had to buy because of the 3 legendary engrams I found, all were blue or for another class. Bungie succeeded in making the saltiest grind-fest roulette simulator that takes on the worst aspects of an MMO without calling itself one.

I apologize that I'm ragging on the game so hard, I'm just incredibly frustrated at how poor aspects of the game are designed. There are certainly some things about the game I enjoy, otherwise I wouldn't keep playing.

Man I am going to love this Defender. Lv. 6 right now and unlocked the Forcr Barrier. Gonna come in handy throughout. Definitely going to pull early armor toward Strength to get constant Disintegrate available.

I personally love the defender class, that shield came in MAJOR help on the Moon strike, with wizards, knights and the ogre, all shooting at you at once while your in a corner, without that shield, imminent death.

Those items upgrade rare+ weapons/armor so don't get rid of them.

Don't sell those, they're used for armor upgrades. Save them!

oh really, I havent gotten any legendary or exotic gear so I didnt know that those materials were used for upgrading that gear. I been turning those into the vanguard quarter master for vanguard points.

I just finished the earth missions.

Game is hella fun, gameplay is great, I'm having great time with friends, but...

- I don't understand a shit about what's going on in the story so far, nor why I should care. Does it get better ?

- I heard that some future raids won't allow matchmaking. Is that serious ? Do they intend to keep it that way ? because :

The items you can grind from patrol mode are fine to exchange. It's the blue items (rare drops and decrypts) that you need to save. You can't sell or exchange them, only discard them. They're used for the best upgrades.

There needs to be a Big Team Battle mode.

10v10 (or 12v12)
Seriously this needs to happen, most of these maps are too big for the current player limits. I find I spend alot more time running around trying to find other players than actually killing anything, especially on that one mars map.
