bwahaha

They have LBP3, Singstar and Guilty Gear left.I honestly thought bone was going to win March with Titanfall. I was ready to place money down on it. But then it didn't. So honestly, now, I don't know what to think.
I'm thinking again the Xbone will win November with MCC, but I am doubting myself. But then again, Sony is pretty much tapped out this holiday. They have jack shit while MS still has Sunset and MCC. So yeah, Sony has the momentum, but MS has the exclusives.
Fuck, its 50/50 for me right now.
We have PR from Sony about digital sales.Sony fans damage control like Xbox owners didnt buy digital in droves also
Hmm sports game really did not do that well on the XB1.
Its pretty odd.
I'm expecting a "trade your 360" type deal to come into play prior to MCC release.
Something like $249-299 for XBO MCC bundle.
Might move a few consoles. Maybe.
More on Destiny. That is Activision's stock. You can clearly see the leadup to Destiny followed by the market reaction since its release. The reason I share this is because I think a lot of people in this thread are engaged in a bit of cognitive dissonance. The line of thought now seems to be "Well, it's not bad. It's even good for a new IP! Yeah!" But if you read the threads, thoughts and consensus prior to the release of Destiny it was night and day. These numbers are bad, nay terrible, compared to what people were expecting. To act like any meaningful chunk of people actually expected this is just disingenuous. People from all walks ranging from random forum poster to multimillion dollar investor/analysts were expecting far more than this. I just find it strange that now people on here are now just instead repeating Activision's marketing lines like this is in any way normal, let alone good!
Hard to say when we don't have hard numbers.Someone earlier in the thread made the excellent point that EA Access likely pushed a bunch of sales to digital thanks to the discount and early access.
Once you apply some reasonable adjustments, assuming that more digital share for ea sports on xone vs ps4 and the numbers make much more sense.

Context is everything.
-The budget for this game was absolutely unprecedented for any game, new ip or 50th iterative sequel. It had a larger budget than the budget bloat beast that is GTA5 for crying out loud.
I don't know who Peter Dinklage is.
I don't know who Peter Dinklage is.
Sorry in advance, this is a very long thread. Is there a decent guesstimate as to what numbers Xbox did this month? Meaning September...
Can you show us the MS PR about digital sales?Sony fans damage control like Xbox owners didnt buy digital in droves also

It's Halo, though. The franchise is very popular in NA.
But Ps4 is going to get GTAV advertising, so I dunno.

That *Physical disk only part of the "get a free game" deal sure skewed the numbers a bit. So did the Destiny PS4 bundles, which were not included in NPD. So did the digital deal where buying it on PS3 gives you the PS4 copy for free.Sony fans damage control like Xbox owners didnt buy digital in droves also
He plays Tyrion, one of the lead characters from the Game of Thrones show.
He's not Iron Maiden's Eddie, but plays Tyrion in Game of Thrones.
What "damage"? Sony moved more copies at retail, despite the fact Microsoft were literally giving the game away.Sony fans damage control like Xbox owners didnt buy digital in droves also
Lol. Check the PR releases.Sony fans damage control like Xbox owners didnt buy digital in droves also
IF YOU QUOTE ME YOU CAN SEE.

Thank you...
You're welcome, and thank Aquamarine.
As you saw, Xbone did well... but was still outdone by PS4 at nearly 2:1 for the month.

Who has said wait til next month?
Can you speak to the edit I made on my other post?

Have you ever looked at Take Two Interactive's stock after a GTA release?
Hint: It drops as well.
I was thinking Xbone will win November but then I started having doubts:
- Kinda feel like a good chunk of the people interested in MCC already have an Xbone.
- Sony has a GTAV PS4 bundle (which will likely come to the US). GTAV made like $800 million in the first 24 hours. And that can definitely benefit Sony.
- While MCC will be a pretty big deal for Xbone, Advanced Warfare is also coming out which may actually do better than Halo.
MS needs to do a MCC/AW Xbone bundle lol.
I fully expect to see more free games added to the future Xbone bundles. it also might be time to start packing in a year of XBL into these deals too
Context is everything.
-The budget for this game was absolutely unprecedented for any game, new ip or 50th iterative sequel. It had a larger budget than the budget bloat beast that is GTA5 for crying out loud.
-It was also developed by arguably the single best known console shooter developer and published by the undoubtedly most well known console shooter publisher. They made sure everybody knew this.
-A star studded cast. Dinklage is one of the hottest names in media right now. Investing in someone like him for a new IP is again all but unheard of.
-It launched right at the entry to holiday season when sales starts to spike upwards.
-It launched with uniquely skinned hardware bundles
-Effective preorder coercion and appealing demos resulted in "millions" of units sold on day 1 (think about what that means for the other 3 weeks of tracking)
-$500million of units were shipped on day 1. This gives insight into Activision's expectations of sales.
-It launched on 4 different consoles. The two last gen have a combined userbase in excess of 160,000,000 with a large chunk of that from the US.
It is a new IP, but it by no means received the new IP treatment, especially in terms of budget nor in initial interest.
The problem is they had multiple bundles and deals for months with little effect.Xbox is doing fine... Yeah it's no ps4 but I don't understand all this gloom.

So stocks are back to where they were a few months before release? lol also the same kind of stock sell off happened when GTAV released, its not a broad picture of how successful a game is.
I have no idea what the expectations for Activision or Bungie were, probably a little more then what actually happened but at the end of the day its still the most played game on each platform and its the most successful new IP of all time. If the userbase can keep at it for the next couple DLC and announcement of Destiny 2 it will be a monster franchise this gen.
I was under the impression Halo has been losing relevance ever since the CoD phenomenon hit. even in my circle of friends who I play Gears3 with on 360, have all shown their distaste for the franchise.

There was an entire thread discussing this. The stock price has nothing to do with Destiny. The price of the stock was overvalued and Activisision announced the cancellation of Titan, their next WoW, and CoD preorders were down significantly.
Destiny is a success, whatever way you want to spin it.
