What are the approximate HW numbers for PS4 in September?

From what I can tell PS4 seems to have sold like 500K and XB1 200K, but I am not sure if that is right.

Mordor is...really good, but it could be a lot better.

It really, really depends on how much you enjoy killing Orcs. If you feel like you might get bored of that at some point, then the game can wear thin quickly. It doesn't take long to get so powerful that nothing can stand up to you, even captains, and the feeling of "I have to get out of here or there will be actual gameplay consequences" starts to fade away.

At some point, you are become death, and nothing can stand in your way.

FH2 had 5 tracking days (Aug 31 - Oct 4). FH2 was on two platforms: XB1 and 360. Still didn't make top 10.

About 5 for some of the more core offerings. Early days, small sample, etc, but it's been a dramatic shift. Really messing up a bunch of stuff because there's really no usable competitive data on digital.

So I guess unless NPD start tracking digital sales, it will be irrelevant in few years.

That was before the big Destiny digital pre-order push. Wait for the next earnings calls. Things have changed, or maybe it's just a blip.

It sold better by the metrics NPD uses. But there are caveats. Reading comprehension wouldn't tell you that it's likely Destiny moved more units on the PS4, inference would.

MS can always free bundle FH2 at country that count.

Decided to do some math and figure out how much Mario Kart 8 did. From numbers I found from these threads, I ended up with about 1111k (though July is ambiguous). So between July and August, there have been up to 89k in digital. Disregarding digital in May and June, this total becomes 979k so now up about 200k in digital sales

At least for me personally. I'm a huge Forza fan but didn't bother buying FH2 yet because I'm still going full steam with Destiny. I'll get there eventually, but for now, Destiny trumps all others.

I've played Destiny twice since I got FH2.
