Haha but one thing I agree in this thread. The game is woke agenda infested slop. Those agenda should have not been included and does not even have any point or link to the games story. That is the reason I decided not to buy Spiderman 2 last year. And it was a great decision because I brought stellar blade and ff7 rebirth instead.

Wolverine is so fucked 😂
The push and force wokeness of Spider man 2 is really a turn off for me. It should have been optional or at least not noticeable. Sales was good buy maybe it could have sold more if those woke crap was not included. Well new management hierarchy in PS, we might see changes. Japan head now. There is hope for a more masculine, pretty ladies and no woke agendas push on wolverine game.

Game still wouldn’t be worth it even if was a good port. Story and dialog is a fucking dumpster fire and the gameplay is the same as the previous 2 games (with new moves of course). Still fucking bitter for buying this day 1 for 70 bucks.

Probably, the day and date on the PC would increase the quality of the ports.

Multiplatform development is not a new thing. If they went multi day 1 the original devs would likely code it in-house and use an engine that weren’t optimized for just one platform.

This is Nixxes getting an impossible task of literally pumping out multiple PC ports per year of games highly optimized for one console in roughly 12 months per project.

Oh well, I want to play it, but going in at a sale after some patching has been done.

it has nothing to do with that, but this narrative pushed by the green army of: it's a matter of time for Sony to put their games day and date on PC (some even go so far as to say day and date on Xbox too).

according to them: Sony just has to do it. it's just impossible for Sony to maintain their games exclusive .

when in reality it's just a wet dream rooted in saltiness; a salty wet dream for Sony to do the same thing as Xbox did. not because is "better for the industry" or "exclusives bad and anticonsumer" or " consoles are dying"...but because they are so butthurt
Xbox made the move, and Sony hasn’t followed suit.

This is some console Warrior crying that somebody is pointing out Spider-man 2 was buggy on PS5.

A simple google search of "Spider-man 2 Buggy" will show you that the game had some pretty widespread issues, be less defensive.

I had 0 bugs on my play through, pc warrior, it wasn’t a buggy mess, maybe some people had minor issues that were patched in a day

Sounds like enough for Grummz or whoever to get Lost guy and everyone else grifted.

seems so.
when the real issue the game had was the actual straight girl that is the main love interest of Indy.
because sadly Machine Games almost went Sony mode whenever she's around 😑 with constant chatter and dumbed down sequences compared to when you are on your own.

it wasn't too bad, but she annoyed me due to that fact

edit: wait...Nixxes did this???? What happened? Time issues?
Not sure why they had to rush, maybe the bean counter that did the project planning was one of those forum dwellers that think “oh consoles are PCs now and you use PC to do dev work, so how hard can it be? No, I will not give you a year to handle what you say is a huge variety of processors, graphics card, drivers of either, and OS releases and well as rejiggle your streaming engine further because you do not have dedicated HW to handle data streaming and decompression”…

… and the results speak for themselves… considering optimisation and PC porting (porting in general) is one of Nixxes studio’s strengths.

Surprising to see Nixxes put out such a half-baked, rushed-looking port on one Sony's best selling games of the past decade. Given the quality of some of their other ports, I'm going to assume they're either being overworked by their paymasters or standards have dropped over there.

I'm not even sure Sony had a strategy with Spiderman 2. Almost a complete absence of any PR push pre-release, no pre-orders despite advertising a pre-order bonus on Steam, and now with a dodgy port, opening to a peak of 18k with a terrible review score. It's almost like Sony just half-heartedly put this out for PC players. I can see this going the way of Miles Morales and generating little to no buzz on Steam, and getting swallowed up by KCD2 and Civilization over the next couple of weeks.

With Forbidden West, Zero Dawn Remastered and God of War : Ragnarok not moving the needle on PC last year, sans Ghost of Tsushima, the novelty of first-party Sony ports is definitely waning.

You're seeing what you want to see
So do you. But when a studio whose specialty is optimisation and porting needs longer time to port a PS5 exclusive over to PC it does speak of challenges when addressing the PC market that are generally obvious and accepted even by PC users unless it makes them feel attacked by console peons.

PC as a platform has TONS of pros, but PC MR’ers generally want to see no downsides / challenges or minimise them and trash devs caught in the crossfire as a result. Is that it then?

Man, I was kinda looking forward to this. Waiting for a deep sale and hope the issues are fixed by then.

This feels like a port that needed a month or two more in the oven, but management pushed it out to bolster revenue in January 2025 (Jan is typically one of the slowest months for gaming).

People just turn a blind eye for some reason. Same with Avowed, or South of Midnight being a fully confirmed Sweet Baby Inc DEI game. They pretend that it's different somehow some way.
Nah, definitely seen people call it out for South of Midnight. Avowed too, but not as. Wasn’t the lead in South of Midnight initially white until SBI got presumably involved?

SBI/DEI doesn't automatically mean Spider-Man 2 or Dragon Age level. Did you play Indiana Jones? I didn't even notice the said npc that could be leasbian and calling a game woke, because of a female sidekick is just madness. Without knowing i never ever would have suspected that SBI was involved.

Played it on PS5 last month for the first time.
It also had problems there, mainly with the cutscenes and the audio + subs.

If i paused a cutscene there was a chance the audio would continue playing on the background and then it was all messed.

One day… are you sure about that? Even the patch 2 weeks later after release is basically just notes about stumping bugs

Sony was fine with this day 0

And Sony is fine with this port state day 0, not Nixxes’ fault, someone above decides. They did the same with TLoU which was one of the worst port in history.

What a shitshow. They don’t care that much about brand these past years clearly.

Sony will have to make in-house studio work on multi platforms like Microsoft does.

Leaks are saying that this plan is coming.

Seems like a trend with Sony PC releases, from an outsider. Late, bugged and shit performance pops up a lot with these Sony PC releases.

Given the nature of a more optimised Sony PS platform, OS, dev framework over MS bloat I'd say this is par for the course with Sony PC ports forever. They are doomed from the start There are simply dev and target platform differences that aren't in the original Sony PS dev pipelines.
