You know I think some people when they're in Asian kung-fu martial arts land, and they're gonna be there for many hours, they just prefer the full package of the traditional ninja/samurai, it's part of the trope.

it's not that serious. who the fuck is taking assassins creed as a historical documentary game. i love japan but japanese people want to potray themselves as asian jesus. while forgetting the abosulte atoricious war crimes they did all the time. they love raping other people during war.Right now, the game’s ranking at 98 and getting dunked on by AA titles like Split Fiction and Atelier Yumia and rocking a solid 2 out of 5 stars.

As far as shadows goes it is way to early to consider the game either a failure or a success. We do no know it's budget or how much it needed to do to keep Ubi afloat until they make some else that can carry them further.
Personally i think Ubi is done in today's form at least. Those 20k employees are dragging them down and their stock is at thrash levels.
Which is too bad since i always had a soft spot for them. I played every assassin's creed game up until now and i think they always had good ideas (both in creed and in other games like watchdogs) but they always failed to actualise their ideas in a game. They always half assed it, so they kinda deserve what is coming at them.

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but, I won't be surprised if there's a hedge fund led smear effort to sink the game. This way, you can short Ubisoft's shares and make a bunch of money. They've been struggling as it is and it won't take much to push them towards the cliff of bankruptcy. That being said, I don't care much for "cultural accuracy" pandering. This whole thing is has been an exercise in making a mountain out of a molehill.

I'm not trying to bandwagon here but dude this is such a bizarre thing to say when its been proven over and over again that mainstream media and these corporations are bed fellows. If there was any smear campaign at all it would be to smear the game with exaggerated positivity and actively persecute the dissent; which we have also seen before and seeing right now.
Culture wars or not ultimately either Ubi is going to be successful or they will get bailed out, the only things that affects that is whether you give them your money or not.

Ubisoft is a publicly traded video game company. They're not getting bailed out. Spend enough time in the markets and you'll see enough of these smear campaigns. It's quite common so it's certainly not out of the ordinary to suggest as much. A recent example of this is Andrew Left and his fund Citron Research.

Chinese are by far the most despised in Japan.
When I was there last year, a taxi driver had a meltdown over a small misunderstanding about a family member trying to close an automatic car door. It was an awkward silence for the rest of the journey, but when we arrived he apologised profusely, saying "I'm sorry... I had... Chinese tourists before you. The child kept jumping on the seat... Parents do nothing".
For what it's worth every black family I saw looked like they were having the time of their lives.

Is it really an honor, if there's not an ounce of reality in there. Idk much about Japan's feudal history, so I can still enjoy the game knowing it's just same pure fiction with maybe 2% of real history mixed in as in all previous AC games.
