Star Wars events like Outlaws had already reduced his HP to like 3. Ran right into the next Ubisoft boss room with no party, no healing items. You hate to see it.

I’ve got the game up and running. I will come back with some impressions after Act 1 or so.

I am a dog who loves ninja games from Tenchu to Ninja Gaiden, as well as stealth games like MGS or Splinter Cell. Those are all basically my favorite games.

At the same time I am not only burnt out on the AC franchise but modern open-world games in general. I thought GoT was “fine”.

I loved AC2 long ago and the last AC game I played was Origins, which I definitely enjoyed but not enough to have a desire for Odyssey, Valhalla, or even Shadows until the week.

I provide context bc I figure there are some dogs or even people out there like me in a similar position. Will report back soon enough.

I'm not trying to bandwagon here but dude this is such a bizarre thing to say when its been proven over and over again that mainstream media and these corporations are bed fellows. If there was any smear campaign at all it would be to smear the game with exaggerated positivity and actively persecute the dissent; which we have also seen before and seeing right now.

Culture wars or not ultimately either Ubi is going to be successful or they will get bailed out, the only things that affects that is whether you give them your money or not.

I find it more funny that I couldn't have had a further away conclusion from you. What are you saying exactly that the CCP launched psyops against ubi to smear their image and thats why they dropped the ball? If anything what I said exactly happened and Tencent (smartly) bailed out Ubi from going under while driving a hard bargain at a golden opportunity.

I don't buy the whole smear campaign/market manipulation angle because Tencent (compared to Ubi) are smart and efficient unlike the bloated stagnant dinosaur that they are. They haven't had a fresh hype worthy release since 2018 and the global population of players is fatigued by them and their formula. It wasn't the Chinese that made them use predatorial monetization, or get into scandals, or make mediocre games, or have ludicrous budgets, or not give players what they want? We aren't in a vacuum and can judge their products for what they are.

What I see happened was that Tencent saw the writing on the wall for Ubi and had already been buttering them for a share buy-out to inject cash into them when they inevitably crash. Ubi made the rushed decision to let Tencent have a huge swaying share over smart cutting of the losses and downsizing, its completely on them whether its by design or sheer incompetence we'll probably never know.

There is a lot of denial over that but it has held true here.

This game could have sold so much more if it wasn't woke.

You hear them brag about x million players. If the game had thrown woke out and tried to appeal to everyone then the game would have SOLD at least triple the amount of copies it did.

You will also see this game have terrible legs I suspect. I believe when the next financial report comes out it will be very revealing. Does anyone still think the game did well? I've got a bridge to sell you.
