Nah, they've been on Twitter about this thing for a while. That's where they held the poll and made the change based on the result. There's no doubt this is in reference to the male/female a/b situation.

That's why he makes specific reference that the discount is the same, etc.

Both. The type A/B removal is easy marketing on social media with the way the pendulum is swinging. The deep discount is the cherry on top. Seems to have worked. LectureMaster copped it recently too. Not sure if it was because of this.

There will undoubtedly be people who bought it because #Based, but I'm not sure how many. The likely explanation for the majority of sales is simply that he got a lot of attention with the very overt anti-A/B tweets, which got people talking. I've seen here on GAF people saying that it's actually good now that it's all patched up.

It was effective marketing and it worked - LotF is popular again.

Yeah, probably that. I don't think people bought it specifically for that reason, but it did make a lot of noise and made people aware of the game. Plus, I hear it's been patched and is the best it's ever been.

People weren’t holding off because of that. But the dev talking about it on Twitter and going viral gives them easy mindshare. People on the fence that had forgotten about the game go, “hey it sounds like it’s been patched up and it’s only $20. Might as well give it a try.”

I mean, in fairness, I got FH5 bundled when we bought our XSX. Havent touched it after asking for my pronouns and if I wanted a prosthetic leg.

A few years ago I would laugh and say this is stupid and "whatever", let them just include it. I'll even say that people are wasting their time complaining about Body Type A & B, making it a bigger deal than it needs to be.

But fast forward to today, many companies started making it mandatory and having Male and Female only options basically became a sin, "out of touch", an ism, a phobe, bigotted, etc. I would now argue the other side has made it a far bigger deal than it needs to be.

Many people are now starving for the return of common sense without all the unecessary fluff and nonsense. I know this will come as a shock to many internet only dwellers who live in social media...but most people in the world know there are only 2 genders and laugh at the concept of anything else. Doesn't matter where they currently sit in the political spectrum.

Props to the CEO of CI Games for understanding this.
