No spoilers but I had a moment in this game today.

I said something I shouldn't have. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Then that little nugget snowballed into a bigger thing, and then it grew to a really big thing until that one slip of the tongue had cornered me into making 1 of 2 choices, and both were shit. I witnessed some pretty terrible stuff as a result of my carelessness.

I've NEVER had a game like this do anything like this before that I can recall.

Ho boy i did a choice today and hopefully you are not talking about that one :D

What is that last photo of? Where is that? Were you able to explore that on your own or was it some guided tour? I would of loved that then and now, being big into history. Most I got to explore were closed down Insane Asylums, abandoned pocono mountain resort, old hotels, homes and factories. A castle would of been the jackpot.

It's Borgholm Castle, Öland Sweden. It burned 1806. There is this one cool wall inside which has grafitti from the 16-hundreds I believe. Young noblemen have scribed their names into the lime plaster. 😃

When I was young (90ies) it was wide open, but I think it is more blocked off these days. I haven't visited in many years.

Yeah. Took your guys advice. Watched YouTube videos.
Spent 2.5 hours on Bernard. Learned master strikes.

I still don't fucking get it lol. I practiced with him, and he just keeps destroying me. He just dodges, or ripostes, or when I try to perfect parry the window to get it is so tight that 80% of the time I miss it.

Like he'll have the sword above his head. And I think "ok, I'll hit him from the bottom." Nope, just brings the sword down on me.

I couldn't even do these master strikes he taught me. I was ok in the tutorial. Then when I went to practice with him, poof. Nothing was working.

Anyways, deleted the game. Gave it my best shot. Thanks for the advice guys.
Thats fine, but you should have just moved on after you learned "master strikes". There was no need to try to destroy Bernard. He is part of the later story. :messenger_winking_tongue:

65 hours in, and I've only done a handful of main quests in the second region.

I fast travel at every opportunity and skip spoken dialogue after I've read the subtitles, so I'm not dragging it out by any means.

This game is massive!

I unlocked a chest in a shop full of lore books. I stole and read each one and put it back. Stealing knowledge, bitch.
By the way, I'm the master of lockpicking. I unlocked every single locked chest and door in a castle with a single lockpick.

Just arrived in Kuttenberg. It's a HUGE city. So many possibilities.
And I was thinking... What if I become some sort of Jack the Ripper? How would the game react?

I read there is supposed to be a Jack the Ripper serial killer quest, probably in Kutenberg

Does lock picking ever get easier? I straight up cannot do it
I can now easily open very hard locks so, yeah. But did you understand how lockpicking works? Find the sweet spot where the ball turns yellow. Rotate the lock keeping the ball in the sweet spot.

You need to practice a lot. Unlock everything even if you're not going to steal anything.

Yeah I tried it twice on an easy lock, both lock picks broke, I’m on controller I dunno if that’s the issue but the whole thing is confusing me - I’m like 8 hours in

Some stuff doesn't look well balanced: I'm far from finishing the first map and I'm already 30/30 Houndmaster, and I don't even have the Wonders of Beast perk (next one is Horsemanship at 24/30 and I almost always do manual travel).

Is there a time when the dog becomes useless? I'm bored of feeding it, I swear it eats more than Henry.

I never thought he was worth the hassle in the first game even, I just released him and went about the game on my own. I'm in the second region in KCD2 and I never even bothered retrieving him.

What absolute insanity (MAJOR STORY SPOILERS FOR FIRST REGION) Hashek went full scorched earth, love how hardcore this mission was, people getting drowned, tossed off high places, throats being slit, God damn. Was tempted to let the young lord go but he *did* kill my people so that wasn't going to happen no matter what his justification was. Semine gone, powerful stuff, I thought the bell mission would lead me to the new map region but no, lots still going on here lol

I have absolutely no doubts that come the end of the year KCD2 will be in my top for 2025 and I play fuck ton of games, MH Wilds another undoubtedly GOTY worthy contender right around the corner, this year is off to an amazing start!

What is that spoiler? first map or second map spoiler?

Main story and quest design is so well done in this game aswell and i bet its a lot harder to do engaging stuff in this setting without any fantasy element, but they did an amazing job.

Umm...console command?
You can just put e_svoti_AsyncCompute=1 at the end of the system.cfg file (should be located in the game folder).
It is also dependent on the Global illumination setting in game. I had it at Experimental and it boosted my fps by 12-16 fps. Roughly the same boost when GI was set to Ultra. Did not see that fps boost when used High or below. Ymmv. It is really easy to try, so I advice to test and see for yourself :)

I’m a bugger for skipping in-game instructions, so I’ve made the game 10 x harder than it should be. Only through messing around with menus have I recently discovered that I can only have 3 side-quests active at any one time. No wonder I’ve been struggling to complete some of the quests!

Although, my biggest issue has been trying to find the time to really enjoy the game because it isn’t one to rush through and grabbing an hour here and there hasn’t been ideal.

I’ve just found a pretty decent bow, which is great because using a bow as my main was my intention when starting the game, but I haven’t yet figured out how to use it, or if I need to create complete arrows with the various arrow heads that I have in my inventory.
In one of the early place you visit before the wedding there is a chick that ask you to find his drunk husband, in the same place you can talk with her son, he organize small bow competitions, repeat the easy level until you get some skill points then pass to medium level, repeat these 2 to get money and more bow skill points.

The secret of this game is repeating an actitivity if the game give you the chance.

Good shout. I’ve found the son, but I was a bit short on money - I only had 86g and I needed 100g for training. I’m going to spend a bit of time with alchemy and blacksmithing to raise some much needed cash, then I’ll get some training.

I did actually find the father, who has asked me to get his horse, but I’m utterly useless at combat so I’m going to come back to it once I’ve trained myself a bit.

No you don't have to train, you have to do the bow contest that has 3 levels, chose the easy one, it's only like 5 or 15 euros.

You can repeat that but the option is randomly unavailable sometimes.

Hint for alchemy, when you have to use the time thingy, move the cursor into the thing while you are still in the previous animation of putting down the cauldron and spam the A\X button to not lose any second and waste the potion.

That way henry immediately turn the time thingy, not sure what is the margin of error because i always used this trick so i always had perfect potions.

I've started giving each potion an extra turn and henry STILL says "maybe should have boiled it longer" I dont get it it

But also HOLY FUCK I never realized there were other tabs on leveling up, I've only been looking at the stats page... I have 116 perkpoints to spend

I am shocked the torture scene isn't getting more attention. GTA 5 torture scene was a huge deal when it released. Probably more to do with the politics of the time. But you can torture someone to death in KCD2. Absolutely brutal

I stole a horse from some lumberjacks I slaughtered and left it outside a house I was murdering in and when I came outside it was gone. How do I make that horse 'mine'?

I always hit the hourglass as soon as the liquid starts steaming and turn right before the hourglass empties.
I did take the first perk that makes mistakes acceptable, this also let's me make henry strength potions with dry herbs.

The nomad camp has a guy that lets you train stolen horses to be yours, it's not worth it for the most part. Go to semine and get pebbles for cheap(or free speech check). You can find pebbles and the horse peddler in a pasture begind the semine fortress

It's not super graphic or gorey, it's pretty mild as far as tortures go.

KCD2 left it to imagination in my playthrough. No shots of the instruments acting on the guy; just Henry picking one, the setup, and reactions.
