So MS lost the US... they are going to get creamed in the WW numbers. I can't wait to see the spin there.
They lost launch. Too early to say they lost the gen..
There's tons of evidence of XBO winning early December.

Surprised that none of the next gen exclusives are in the top 10 at all. Then again, with the major franchises like CoD, AssCreed, BF, Madden etc. all coming out as well as being on the new consoles, the exclusives had little chance.

Software was down by 24% year over year.

Ouch that hurts. This year we have COD, Battlefield, AssCreed, Madden, GTA V, NBA 2K14, Skylanders, etc. . . . people buying software for the new consoles . . . and we could not beat last year?

Was there something huge last year?

I don't see how this is so surprising. Gen transition years usually have lower software sales as the userbase of old consoles don't buy games anymore and there is limited amount of new consoles. COD and BF alone were hugely down compared to their prequels last month. Impossible for PS4 and one to make up for those millions of sales. Of course then there is also digital.

This is pretty boring without any good hints. Might leave and come back later because everything is pretty expected right now, outside of low 3DS numbers..

But lol at everyone getting pissed at Derrick. Gotta love that guy. He's got balls of steel and doesn't care about upsetting the sensitive types.

He's busy rubbing himself against Vita's rear touchpad.
I like Vita, it's too bad it isn't selling like it should
All of the record-breaking PS4 purchasers haven't been told by Sony that they'll get 6-8 games for free on a Vita when they buy one seeing how they're already paying for Plus to get their online action on in COD: Ghosts and BF4.

They also haven't been told that the Vita doubles as a controller and will let them play PS4 games anywhere in their house.

Or perhaps they just don't give a rat's ass about it. Which makes me sad.

Getting its ass handed sounds like the Wii U totally dominated the Vita sales. And I guess the Wii U numbers themseles are bad.

Well let's be real here...iirc wiiu was selling double the amount or more in the NA in the last few months. This is not something to be surprised about

What I don't understand is why would anyone, including the one who made that tweet, make it sound as if this was in question. WiiU is competing against the vita in the NA now? lol WiiU is fucked in more ways than one then

Nintendo Hardware Sales Increase by 100 Percent, Nintendo 3DS Surpasses 10 Million

Two games that are among the best reviewed of 2013 launched on Nov. 22: Super Mario 3D World for Wii U and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for Nintendo 3DS. The strong response to these games helped sales of Nintendo hardware systems in November increase by 100 percent over the month prior. This includes nearly 770,000 units of the Nintendo 3DS family, which drove the lifetime total past 10 million to nearly 10.5 million units. Other sales milestones achieved for the month include:

Nintendo 3DS Family of Systems

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y each sold more than 225,000 combined digital and physical units in their second month on the market. This brought the combined life-to-date total to more than 2.35 million units. On Dec. 4, Nintendo revealed special edition Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Nintendo 2DS bundles that should keep the games’ momentum going through the holidays and into 2014.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, the sixth Nintendo 3DS title to have a Metacritic score of 90 or higher, sold more than 280,000 combined digital and physical units. That figure jumps to more than 405,000 total units when including the special edition Zelda-themed Nintendo 3DS XL system, which comes with a code to download the game.

A handful of first-party Nintendo 3DS titles saw triple-digit sales percentage increases in November over sales in October. This includes standout 2013 titles such as Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D (seventh month on market; 140 percent increase) and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (ninth month; 105 percent increase), and legacy titles such as Paper Mario: Sticker Star (13th month; 280 percent increase), Mario Kart 7 (23rd month; 130 percent increase) and Super Mario 3D Land (24th month; 235 percent increase).
Wii U

Sales of Wii U hardware increased by more than 340 percent over sales in October.

Super Mario 3D World for Wii U, currently the highest-rated next-generation title with a Metacritic score of 94, sold more than 215,000 combined digital and physical units in its first eight days on the market.

“This holiday season, Nintendo is offering an unparalleled combination of value and variety,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “In looking at these results, two things are indisputable: Our hardware is gaining momentum at the exact right time and our software catalog is stronger than ever.”

*Data regarding physical sales of games in November are from the NPD Group. Data regarding digital downloads of games and combined physical/digital life-to-date numbers are from Nintendo’s internal sales figures. All numbers, unless otherwise stated, are specific to the United States only.

As expected, we knew the PS4 would own November. we've got some interesting times ahead. MS needs the US, because sony is going to dominate worldwide.

Honestly, the Bone numbers are pretty good. MS should consider it a win to be basically going even with Sony after the PR disaster earlier this year and the more expensive price tag.

I'm really starting to think the Bone might end up winning America quite easily in the end.

PS4 will still kill it everywhere else.

It's way better than the 2 DS Zeldas and Twilight Princess that's for sure. I didn't play Skyward Sword and from what I read about it I'm glad I didn't. I got no time for 40 hour tutorials and excessive handholding.

I consider Twilight Princess to be vastly superior, but yeah, it's better than the DS games and SS, but those aren't very high bars to climb. ALBW has a couple of issues of its own and I'm not a fan of the heavy content recycling.

Sales of Wii U hardware increased by more than 340 percent over sales in October.

Remember guys:

50K < Wii U < 50.5K last month.

Neither of these sound very good to me...

Wii U 4.4 * October. Get those calculators out.

220K?

That's "shut it down" bad.

Did really anyone of you people think Mario and Zelda to be in top 10 when there are 2 toys games and a GTA around? No way, toys are way bigger than Mario, Zelda, or Pokémon.

I can see November NPD 2016:
1- Call of Duty: Collectible Warfare Starter Set with 2 figures
2- Assassin's Creed: Figurehood Starter Set
3- Skylander Übergiants: Who the heck is Spyro?
4- Star Wars Infinity Bossk the Bounty Hunter the Movie Expansion Set
5- Marvel Infinity Avengers: Shawarma Edition
6- DC Toyverse: We're kidding, This only has Goddamn Batman
7- FIFA 17
8- World of Warcraft Minifigures: We're owned by Activision, Remember?
9- Hasbro Infinity by Hasbro, A Disney Company
10- GTA 6 (it still manages to be on the list)

Sony needs to get out of the handheld business. Period.

PSP didn't set the world on fire. Vita is doing terribly. (Ouya levels)

Sony gave it a shot and failed. Get out. Focus on mobile.

I'm not so sure. PSP was a good start, but they failed to properly capitalized with the Vita. They might still turn it around with a deep price cut on both hardware and memory cards as well as some value adds.

On the other end, Nintendo would do well to get out of the console business and focus solely on handhelds...can't really see Nintendo righting the U boat at this stage. It's basically dead...

Why do people pick up shitty games when great games are sitting right there on the shelf? I will never understand.
Get over yourself. Some people have different tastes. Some people think Call of Duty is better than anything else out there. They're right. It's their opinion.
