So all those people hoping that consoles were losing popularity and the market is going to crash were wrong eh? Just Nintendo that can't make a compelling home console, this NPD is great news for the industry. Congrats MS and Sony.
Many were hoping it would be better than PS4 numbers and it's not even close. Also it was $99 at one point and according to GAF has the best games lineup of 2013 lol

Do these include Canada? In other words does it mean that Xbox One sold less in the 8 days than the PS4 did in 24 hours as that figure was US & Canada?
There's nothing unclear about it -- selling 1 million in 1 day is by any reasonable measure faster than 900K in 9 days.
If Usain Bolt finished a marathon in 1 hour while someone else did it in 9, you would be silly to say that the other guy was "faster", just because Bolt had a speed of zero mph for a whole 8 hours.

It was only at Walmart during Black Friday I believe (4GB model)
Ps4 sold 1 million in North America which includes Canada. NPD does not include Canadian sales as far as I know.

We are buying more digital games that are not tracked. Nothing that I bought for PS4 or Xbox 1 will show up on NPD. Don't even know if either of my consoles will show up as they were bought direct from the source.

The GAF average prediction was 1016K, so it's very underwhelming.
Vita and Wii U believe.
GameIndistry says that 3DS numbers were "positive", that it sold "quite well"...I seriously want to know if they include 2DS or not.
I still think, wheter 2DS is included or not, they'll release a PR also for highlighting their software sales.
Yeah, I know both Zelda and Mario aren't in top 10, but we've already seen numbers now are high, and that multi-platform charts tend to penalize exclusives. We'll see.
Pokémon+super cheap deals for Black Friday+already super cheap base model thanks to the 2DS+fantastic back catalog with good/great entries in pretty much every franchise that made the DS popular. It's certainly nothing to celebrate...
software sales are down, despite the amount of games and the fact that every single title in the top 10 is multiplatform.
Not only that, but many of those top 10 titles are yearly releases.

It's terrible for Nintendo considering how down it's going to be in Japan and what forecast they set for the end of the year, so yes unless it has a massive December its not coming close to that forecast

That's a big 'just' you got there. The numbers are pretty flat - they're supposed to increase substantially y.o.y as the price lowers.
