They were only releasing 2-3 actual first party games from their studios a year for the system. The Vita dying helped because it forced them to port those games to PS4. Mixed in all of that were published titles, remasters, and remakes.

It really doesn't matter; the few people here trying to be more positive about it. The consensus is that it was an awful show.

There is one difference look what games were ps3 exclusive in 2013. Imagine those games being ceossgen with ps4 than suddenly the ps4 gets alot stronger 1p wise

Awful fucking show. Honestly ready to give up on Playstation myself. Stick with Switch/Switch 2 and PC. Just cannot believe how far Sont have fallen from the late PS3 days. Console gaming is in a real poor state if Xbox and playstation are the best they have got.

8 games in 4 years is an average of 2 First Party games a year. How am I wrong? If we’re not counting Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, and other games this gen as NOT being first party, we should do the same for PS4. Until Dawn and Nioh aren’t from first party studios. That drops the average.

You just skipped right over Housemarque’s game? That’s an actual first party studio title. Intergalactic? That’s a first party studio title too, and another new IP. Concord was a new IP as well, but it ultimately bombed.
I’m just tired of the revisionist history when it comes to that gen. The system launched with Killzone and Knack. The CEO apologized two years later because it was such a terrible lineup. The following year was Driveclub (busted launch), The Show, and Infamous Second Son. LittleBigPlanet 3 was also released, but Sumo did that entry, not Media Molecule. Dreams was their only contribution that gen.

Its very easy to unload on sony right now.
The pro is a waste. Pssr is trash. Third parties barely make use of the extra power.
You had astrobot but you already had it packed with the ps5 release so though great game it was more or less just an huge dlc.
But i admit psvr2 is saving my pro for now.
And i do advise everyone to get one.
Resi 4 is just a must play.
I would have given this show a 1000 out of 10 would they have showed astros rescue mission for psvr2

Sony released so many games on ps3 in 2013. You have to count out all the cross generation games on ps4 and ps5 as well which makes the ps5 exclusives list super tiny.

Ex-PS user/owner, currently PC-gamer only. I don't hate the PS ecosystem, but I decided to have only one gaming ecosystem and PC seemed the best choice.

If we only count AAA PS5 exclusives, the first four years were quite underwhelming. There were a lot of cross-gen games, which in the past wouldn't have been released on a new console at all. For example, God of War 2 came out two years after the PS3 launched. Additionally, all those notable 2013 games were exclusive to the PS3, highlighting the difference in how the industry approached new console releases back then.
So yes sonys output were alot better in 2013 to 2017 like srsly.
