The reception of Assassin’s Creed Shadows in Japan, based on Amazon Japan sales and reviews, is brutal

Thats for US folks, not us Europeans.

Even as a Dutch man I dont feel this white guilt lol. And we were some FUCKERS back in the day.
I’m American and I don’t have any of this. What my ancestors did or didn’t do has no affect on me or how I live my life.

I don’t owe anything to anyone based on past events I wasn’t involved and neither does anybody else.

So that this is 100% clarified for the thread, you are both stating that after Yasuke's first foray, you can still play as him, however the cutscenes for the rest of the chapter belong exclusively to Naoe?
Nah you cannot switch to him, until after you 'unlock' him which supposedly is after the first chapter with Naoe. Im not sure how long that is.

But im about 14/15 hours in, just taking my time unlocking towers, doing the questionmarks and other missions.

So right now I cant play as him yet. Considering the entire story is about Naoe right now, I can see how people would consider he the "main" character.

I’m not gaslighting. The person playing that chose to switch to him. The story is about Naoe. But whatever.
You claimed you can't play as Yasuke for the first 1/3 of the game. That is not true. Per The Gamer, it's 8 hours in for a >40 hour campaign when sticking to the main track, so less than 1/5 of the way through. With the large amount of side content as the game opens up, it would be an even smaller percentage.

You play him in the Prologue and then you do not get access to the option to switch to him until you finsih Act 1. There are three Acts in the game. You do not get to play as Yasuke (after the intro) until you have completed 1/3 of the three acts of the game. I don’t appreciate being accused of lying.

Not to be contrarian, but I am far from worshipping a country that:

Has incredibly prolific hentai scene in order to Cather to people attracted to minors because “it’s just drawing”

Has a market for girl panties and gravure swimsuit photoshoots of 12-years olds

Committed unspeakable horrors during WWII, with Japanese camps showing mortality rate far in excess of the Nazi ones

Has an economy that barely grew in the last 30 years but for some reason everyone is still working super late to please their bosses

Japan is awesome - the ancient one. The shogun, the castles, etc. Modern one is thrash.
I meean when it comes to social issues, the ancient ones were far wilder than the modern ones.
I think maybe you just mean you like the architecture and how their armor looked.

Just to add some timed context. Mission titles wont be dropped here for spoilers but it only involves 3 specific main ones(meeting/assassinations) but they aren't highlighted in the game as "moving to Yasuke introduction or anything.
9 players we watched got to Yasuke in less than 4 hours.
2 in less than 6
5 in 7-10.

Not sure of the acts lengths as I didn't check their screens or see the pops for chapter headings. BUT I do feel like chapters have slightly different required playtime.

The Woke mob celebrating 2 mILliOn pLaYeRs!! for an AC game is the saddest thing you see here

a game from a calibre franchise like AC should be doing MHW number, 8 million sold in 3 days
These buffoons are desperate, just like they were when they were trying to proclaim Veilguard a success. They'll clown themselves just like Jason Schreier clowned himself with Veilguard.

The acts are asymmetrical, hence not 1/3 of the game. You're misrepresenting the facts, intentionally, to push an agenda. Call that what you will. You have a history of doing this, like when you called anyone who claimed there were major reshoots for Snow White a lying grifter. The reshoots turned out to be real of course.

You don't have the credibility remaining to be gatekeeping discussions and calling anyone who doesn't align with your perspective a grifter. Sayonara.

Agreed, the only reason someone would defend this so badly is because they are part of the mentally insane woke crowd at least 99% of the time.

Like I get people "grifters" might complain about a game too much, there's plenty of youtube channels on it and I don't sub or even watch those everytime. And I do think some people have too much focus/time on talking about the game. But at the same time why the heck would I mind that much to the point where I'll feel the need to defend a game that much especially if it does indeed have woke elements. Anyone trashing on anything woke is welcomed even if they do talk about it too much, why would I or anyone sane be bothered with it in the first place. If you're not part of the insane woke side than you shouldn't be minding that much to the point where you'll have to try hard to defend a game that much in the first place.

Like when Elder Scrolls VI comes out, I'll be it's biggest fanboy and will praise the game whenever I can no matter if they have a lot of DEI/WOKE stuff in it. But at the same time I won't be attacking/going against anyone that decide to talk bad about it's woke elements assuming it does have them.

Indeed, those 2 mil players is likely less than 1m sold copies, so quite terrible for mainline entry in AC series that regulary sells 10m+ copies.

I see. So if you’re arguing that 1 million people are on Ubisoft + Premium, why are you in the Steam CCU thread using the Shadows CCU peak as a benchmark for the game’s success?

Wait, EviLore EviLore , did you ban that guy for this ?

He did him a favor. Now he actually has time to play the greatest game that was ever made which definitely doesn't include any DEI or woke elements and if you think it does it's because you're a racist homophobe or because you deliberately went looking for it you sick incel chud so stop spreading roach king's fake news talking points and acknowledge that this game is amazing and is on course to sell 50 million copies.

I went looking for information on how many subscribers Ubisoft+ Premium has. The short answer is, we don't really know, but DeepSeek thinks it's likely low millions:

Okay, the user is asking how many subscribers Ubisoft+ Premium tier has. Let me think about how to approach this.

First, I remember that Ubisoft+ is their subscription service, similar to EA Play or Xbox Game Pass. They have different tiers, right? There's the Premium tier which includes access to new releases and premium editions. But does Ubisoft publicly share their subscriber numbers? I'm not sure. Big companies like Microsoft or Sony sometimes share numbers for their services, but I don't recall Ubisoft doing that recently.

Let me check. Ubisoft's financial reports might mention subscriber counts. But when I look up their latest earnings reports or investor presentations, they usually talk about revenue, MAUs (Monthly Active Users), or sales figures, not specific subscription numbers for Ubisoft+. They might mention growth percentages but not absolute numbers. For example, they might say "Ubisoft+ subscriptions grew by X% this quarter" without giving the total.

Another angle: sometimes companies announce milestones. For instance, when they hit a certain number of subscribers. Has Ubisoft done that? I don't remember any press releases stating a specific figure. They launched Ubisoft+ in 2019, and expanded to different platforms like Amazon Luna and Xbox, but again, no numbers given.

Maybe third-party estimates? Some industry analysts might make educated guesses based on available data, but those would be speculative. Without official data, it's hard to confirm. The user might be looking for a ballpark figure, but even that would be a guess. It's possible that Ubisoft keeps this information confidential for competitive reasons.

Also, considering the gaming subscription market, services like Xbox Game Pass have around 25 million subscribers, but Ubisoft+ is more niche. So maybe in the low millions? But that's just a guess. Without concrete data, it's better not to provide numbers that could be misleading.

Therefore, the answer should state that Ubisoft doesn't publicly disclose the subscriber count for Ubisoft+ Premium tier, and any numbers would be speculative. It's important to advise checking official sources for the latest info.
As of the latest available information, Ubisoft has not publicly disclosed the exact number of subscribers for its Ubisoft+ Premium tier. The company typically shares high-level financial metrics or growth percentages in earnings reports but does not break down specific subscription figures for individual services like Ubisoft+.
For example, in their Q3 2023-24 earnings report, Ubisoft mentioned strong growth in recurring consumer spending (which includes subscriptions) but did not provide exact subscriber counts. Similarly, Ubisoft+ has expanded to platforms like Xbox and Amazon Luna, but no official numbers have been released.
If you're seeking estimates, third-party analysts or industry reports might speculate, but these are not verified figures. For reliable updates, monitoring Ubisoft’s official investor communications or press releases would be the best approach.

I'll put my two cents in on this. If you see someone being banned and you find it shocking the staff did so, there's a very high chance, almost a guarantee, that the poster has a history. There are people who have been here for years who do just enough to not get banned, for the most part, but enough to be on the radar of the mod team. It's an accumulation of bad faith or shit posting. Being an unpleasant or constantly argumentative person for no good reason. It is enough on this forum to get banned, temporarily or otherwise, for just being a tiresome personality over a long period of time.

I think it's more an accumulation of things. Majority of users here are tired with his bullshit.
He was on perm warning for the same patterns of behavior.

I don’t know about DEI or all that, but NOT having a Japanese man being represented in a game about feudal Japan seems like a departure for the series.

AC1- middle eastern man, set in the Middle East.
AC2- Italian. Set in italy.
Ac3- half white half Native American. Set in the US
AC:Black Flag- English. Set in the Caribbean, but pirates were well known to be English (in large part)
AC: syndicate: English. England
AC:Unity: French. France.
AC:Origins. Middle eastern/Egyptian. Egypt.
AC:Odyssey: greek. Greece
AC:Valhalla, Scandinavian. A Viking raiding England.
AC:Shadows: African. Set in Japan.

So you tell me what sticks out to you?

Bro the dude was not right in the head. He was arguing with anyone/everyone across multiple threads as if he was under duress. At some point I started feeling bad for him and put him on ignore for both of our sakes.

Nevermind. I read the other post. Saw the social post. He’s a goner. Leaving my initial thoughts below for posterity.

M ManaByte is a shill but he is our shill. I implore you to have leniency and not make it permanent. I am sure there is background I don’t know. But he is such a colorful character and easy to ignore his shill.

As always I respect the mods decision but I like everyone.”

I don't think he can. Just yesterday he was calling LectureMaster LectureMaster racist for nothing. I'm just not feeling any sympathy for the guy right now.
I guess this is the problem coming in late. You miss a lot of backstory.
Lol no, the guy is probably close to 60 by now.

He’s having a meltdown on twitter

Ya never let him back. You don’t air the laundry. You take it on the chin.
