I have a pc and don't play a single thing on it

It's a spreadsheet device for me

It's not just a spreadsheet device for me. :messenger_beaming:

That would be overkill.

At this point, with Sony recognizing the lucrative potential of bringing former exclusives to PC, Nintendo remains the last holdout. The moment they release Mario, Zelda, and Metroid on PC and catch a glimpse of that revenue, it could spell the end for consoles.

It's hard to imagine Nintendo not eventually realizing that allowing people to build their own systems to play their games could become a net profit. Especially since the same loyal players who are hooked on their easy-to-use, cookie-cutter consoles (thanks to exclusives) would likely transition to PC and adapt without much hesitation. Will there be gnashing of teeth and calls for boycotts at first? Absolutely. But drop a Super Mario Bros. game packed with 100GB of content, running at 250 FPS, and getting streamed everywhere? They'll quietly cave and buy it anyway. :messenger_blowing_kiss:

I will never buy Microsoft junk. I don't use Windows PCs and never will, by the way. I hope it dies out as a software house and also as a hardware manufacturer.

Honestly, I'd be surprised if Microsoft produces another console. I fully expect them to announce the Series X as their final console, shifting their focus to game development, tossing game pass in the trash bin and partnering with Valve, Sony, and Nintendo to bring more Microsoft games to their platforms. Nintendo would likely give an immediate and predictable "oh hell naw," while Sony says "Lets get it bruh bruh", before turning to Nintendo and giving them the crispiest slap in the face with a fat stack of that PC gaming money. Eventually, Nintendo would cave, starting by releasing games on Sony's platform (seeing them as a friendlier, more secure option compared to Microsoft and their pirating & hacking PC gaming deplorables) before cautiously venturing into the PC market like my black ass when I was too afraid to get in deep water when I was young. That's how I see it unfolding.

Ok no more out of pocket posts from me for a while. lol

I voted yes mostly because it seems I end up buying each console anyway.(Admittedly I haven't bought a PS5 pro but I'll probably buy one eventually.) To be far the game I've played most on my Series X is Ninja Gaiden Black.

No. According to Microsofts most recent PR campaign I already own about 5 Xboxes

I can even make toast with one of them.

Good question for me since I bought every MS console on day one and it's the only of the "big 3" for who I did that.

In fact I feel bipolar about MS... I'm always supporting them, believe that "hey the next try will be the right one", you know like that friend who always betray you and promise he won't do it again. Until he does it again.

I'm always full of hope "ohhh yes the xCloud will be awesome", it's the worst cloud gaming service I ever tried (I tried Onlive, Gaikai, Luna, Stadia, xCloud, PS Now, the current PS streaming, boosteroid, shadow pc, geforce now...), by FAR, by REALLY FAR. I believed in Kinect 2 (for my defense when Kinect 1 was release I was living in Japan so I couldn't try it as I didn't have an Xbox there). I believed in cloud computing for Xbox One. I believe the 2/3 first years of Spencer saying "next year is our biggest year". I believed they'll make more and more exclusives. I believed they'll not have more than 4 1st party games going to other consoles...

Even recently I felt again hyped for their 2025 year. But pfff if I'm being honest to myself... Fable doesn't look good, Perfect Dark neither, and as much as I'm gay friendly and I loved Elie in TLOU2 and even Abby, the design of the main character of Fable and the new Joanna Dark... I dunno... I don't really like when women look live they've a bigger dick than mine.

Avowed looked pointless, Midnight something look like a random indie project, I don't care Elder Scrolls games... I'm hyped for the new Doom, that's it, but it won't be exclusive even for 1 day.

I don't say Xbox or MS Gaming will die, they won't, they'll keep pushing cloud gaming (I hope with a better quality) but I feel they'll end up being a cloud service provider and the biggest 3rd party publisher in gaming history, but pfff... Anyway it'll be on PC, PS5... Even Switch 2/3 or whatever.

So what's the point getting an Xbox ?

I'm very nostlagic of the OG Xbox and 360 era but I should accept that this time is over and they will never be like this again, they're 0 person passionate about gaming working at Xbox since very long.

Also I don't mean that "Xbox has no games" but just that Xbox has no exclusives, so it's pointless. And saying that "but exclusives are not important anymore" it's pure bullshit. Netflix is Squid Game, Casa de Papel, Stranger Things, you sub for this; you sub to Disney + for the Star Wars tv series, the Disney animaiton movies; you sub TV+ for Silo, Severance, Foundation etc.
CONTENT IS KING, as it always has been. If I can have a PS5 with the multiplat games, Xbox studios games (even after 2 years, whatever anyways they're hundreds of games to play), and the PS exclusives... Why I'd purchase the console that has the multiplat games, the Xbox studios games, but NOT the PS studios games, and costs the same. Why ?

tl;dr : no

I tend to buy all base consoles so I'll end up getting this as well. Also, with GP the Series X has become my most played console as I can easily pick up most GP games where I left off on my PC. With PS+ I have to download 150GB or some crazy shit to see if I like the game and if someone else is using the living room I can't play it at all.

I would as I've said that I prefer Xbox HW or rather the OS and whole ecosystem. I also like games like FH and Flight Sim, more than anything else. Now CoD is on Gamepass, etc. Despite MS massive fortitude from MS, it is still a good game device (XSX).

I will still be buying 5090 tho, so in case this won't work out, I would still have gaming PC

No, it looks like it will be the last Xbox console before it is finally withdrawn from the market, it is not worth investing in the ecosystem.

Real talk...
Does Sony even have an ecosystem?

I mean.. they are the dominant player. No questions.
But the ecosystem....
ehh..

The great thing about microsoft.. I don't have to invest in shit. :messenger_grinning_squinting: Sign up for gamepass...I'm set.

I would buy a new Xbox if it offers something I want. I haven't really been burned by Xbox so far, even though my spending on games has slowed down due to game pass. I did buy a few games during the holiday sale. Jedi Survivor deluxe edition for 8 bucks or so was too good of a deal to pass up.

This and Xbox going mulitiplat makes me consider going to PC more and more.
IMO anybody who can should go over to PC gaming. I tried it and personally I can't stand it. If you can deal with all the little things that drove me crazy it's easily the best place to play games. Some people just wont be able to handle the little things though and I was one of them.

probably not if it's a standard console, the Series X is enough for me with it's BC since there really isn't anything exclusive this gen

now a handheld that can play my library of 360 & XB1 exclusives? that would interest me

If I didn't buy the next Xbox, console gaming would be over for me, since I never cared for Paystation and don't like handhelds. So of course I'll buy it.

I can't see myself buying another console, everyone. PC has all the advantages now. We'll other than cost but I'm lucky enough to not have to worry too much there.

knowing their history, even if they do everything right, there might be always one thing that they did later that would jeopardize everything.

I mean, I already have an Xbox library. If this is the rumored handheld and I can do some achievement hunting in the couch, why not? Just don't expect me to shell out again for the damn storage expansion.

Nay, i will stay on pc and nintendo, maybe ps6 if things are right for me, microsoft is awful soon after xbox 360 for me. And the only thing i keep buying is their controller, even the controller are sooo basic compared with others. Only bought it because of the easiest to buy locally

Maybe. Depends. Imo, with Microsoft's current trajectory, there's no point of another XBOX. I feel the consensus amongst most gamers is as long as XBOX continues to develop multiplatform games, lack genuine exclusives and are not putting 100% behind the next XBOX, then why buy an XBOX when literally all my devices are an XBOX?

According to Microsoft, I already own multiple Xboxes. I'm so confused now.
I always say no, but then give them one more chance. But I am really not invested in their eco system at all. I own almost zero digital games or attachments.

Yes, I already have a sizeable library and would like to play them in better quality if possible.
As long as they keep giving me free Game Pass, I'll be happy.

Yep. Best controller, network, and UI imho. GamePass gets me tons of games I wouldn't normally try, plus all the Xbox studios stuff. If I cared that much about PC gaming then there'd be no reason to own an Xbox or a PlayStation.

I would if i was still into consoles. I don't give a fuck about 95% of Sony's exclusive games since PS4. I prefer the Xbox controller and i like the good customer service. Game Pass + VPN games are excellent for saving lots of money and quick resume is a great feature. In times without Gold free cloud saves are also great. One S, One X, XSS and XSX were dead silent which is very important to me.
But i wouldn't invest too much money into the ecosystem, because i think Xbox hardware is done after that gen.
