No and it will be the first time I haven't bought into the platform since the OG Xbox. At this point I have a decent gaming PC and the PS5, I'll be able to play their games on either of those platforms. No need for me to buy another console.

It really depends on if they continue this foolish trend of porting their exclusives to PS5. If they do, my only reason to get another Xbox is strictly for GamePass, and it's just not that good enough to buy a console for. Besides I have a Series X, and the Xbox One is still supported. So I imagine Series X/S will be too for quite some time.

I bought an original Xbox because there were great games I couldn't get on PS2.

I bought a 360 because there were great games I couldn't get on PS3.

I didn't buy Xbox One

I didn't buy Xbox Series

I won't buy Xbox Prime

Can you figure out why?

I am mainly interested in Microsoft's PC franchises. So no. Unless Halo gets good again, then I might think about it.

Day one. I'm invested in the ecosystem with friends and game pass. I enjoy the controller and the features of their OS like game resume, wallpapers, more available apps and the controller. I also appreciate being able to start a game on my console or streaming on my steam deck then pick up anytime I want on whatever device seamlessly with my game saves.

If it's going to play just PC games, (aka console games these days) - then no.
If it offers exclusive function, exclusive games and excellent hw design at attractive pricing - maybe yes but very reserved at this point.

Bough og xbox, i was that only xbox owner in my smalltown, and probably one of very few in my east european country, was even before xbox was officially distributed by microsoft here.
Didnt buy xbox one, one x nor series s/x coz it didnt look convincing enough, like at all.
Lets wait and see what ms offers this time, not keeping my hopes up, xbox became amd of consoles for a while now =/

Looks at title.....

Bots Assemble.

Over half of voters so far have dismissed a product before literally anything about it has been announced.

Did Phil fuck your wife's/husbands or something?

Bad Evil M$?

Genuinely curious as to why you are so dismissive.

Surely "I would need more information" would be the way forward for any non Xbox fan?

Let's say it's a 5090 at heart for 599. 50% of you already dismissed the idea because it's Xbox
Track record since 360 of dog shit.

All games are on PC now.

No need to buy their games because of game pass.

Devs see little value to produce games on it that aren't sports or call of duty.

Series S makes me worried they'll do this again to bottle neck what's possible so devs have to produce for a junk console.

I don't need to hear more. Their approach is donkey shit. Phil destroyed Xbox and any value to the brand or owning one. Their literal campaign ads tell you to use other devices to play their games.

Need more information... I am not totally averse to it . This gen the small performance differences in a few select games and the overall crossover between the machines versus sony's exclusives, I opted to fence-sit and stay with just PS5/PS5 pro for now. I still have my XBoneX and it was one of my favorite machines, it just felt good and was fast and ran games of that generation awesome, had some fantastic backward compatibility, Blue dragon , panzer dragoon orta etc etc on that may as well have been new releases. I dont know what the new xbox would offer me that would make me excited for it -especially with Switch 2 coming up and with games costing as much as they do now.... another console and another subscription in this economy? Not sure.

No, I had them all aside from Xbone (due to their drm shit being a red flag) and foolishly gave them a second chance with series.

Happy to go back to Nintendo this year and grab the odd game like Gears on non xbox platforms. They just don't inspire any confidence, certainly not enough to invest another 5 years of my entertainment budget.

This is one of my outta pocket posts. Without exclusives, consoles as a whole would already lag behind PCs in video game market share. Considering that Microsoft is shifting away from exclusives, this 'Prime' better be priced significantly lower than its competitors (PC's included), or have a steam integration agreement. Otherwise it's doomed out the gate. Nintendo has been high off nostalgia and that gas is running low while their mediocre hardware quickly goes obsolete. Sony is clinging to exclusives for dear life while barking over at Microsoft like WTF BRUH!?!

What a weirdly biased topic. Fucking hell. You guys really want to see Xbox exit the console business and let Sony become the arrogant market leader deciding on prices of subs, hardware and games.
Most likely Steam Machines will replace Xbox on the market, so the competition never ends.

I buy all new consoles. I don't even know what this thing is. I bought a PS5 Pro and haven't played a single new game on it. I want whatever will play GTA 6 with the best graphics so if it is better than the Pro. Sign me up.

☠️ I own thePS5, but the only games I've played on it are Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, solely because I didn't want to wait for the PC releases. God of War? Played it on PC. Ragnarök? PC. Spider-Man: Miles Morales? PC. Spider-Man 2? Waiting for the PC release. I even played The Last of Us on my goddamn PC!

Ultimately, the PS5 was just a Final Fantasy machine for me to play ahead of the PC versions. Now it's gathering dust until GTA 6 comes out.

It's a spreadsheet device for me

Will it play all Xbox and PC games and be under 699 dollars?

I doubt it, so pass.

That said, this is fake, 2027 is earliest.

Also, as much shit as I talk about Xbox, I bought 2x XSX on launch, one for me one for my brother.

No one can burn you like a former fan, that's why I am less interested in shit-talking them lately. It's just too efficient. I don't want to be responsible for the downfall of this company thru sick burns. Xbox, the modern audience never loved you like I did. Not by a damn sight. Come back to me and we can be together, or keep going down your dark path to appeal to the hip kids and you will be completely abandoned.

Not likely, but at this point I wouldn't get a PS6 now that they're porting their games to PC.

At least with Nintendo their exclusives are better, the system is portable and cheaper.

Game Pass is still nice value though.

At this point I'd rather just play any Xbox Studio titles of interest on PC, PS5 or the next Switch. Microsoft's own marketing tells you an Xbox console is no longer needed, just as long as you're in their ecosystem in some form.

I need more info. But for me Xbox needs to have something huge to interest me. For me a console would not work as I have always played Playstation and have Steam and a relatively new PC at the moment. If they create a handheld/tablet that is good, sold at a huge discount and no Sony rival then maybe I will buy one. But I can't see them having a console that would work for me as the first reason I buy consoles(exclusives) don't seem to be part of Xbox plans in the near future.

Imagine having any confidence in continuing to build a digital library on this platform while Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, Matt Booty, Aaron Greenburg are still there.

Hell yes!

Whatever mistakes they have made, they don't really concern me (Tango closure hurt, though) as long as they continue making these awesome, unsual, sometimes even weird games that don't try to cater to everybody. If they do release it in 2026, we will most likely have the most powerful console for at least two years and if they continue to add new gamer friendly stuff like they did with XSX (BC, Auto-HDR, Fps boost etc) then it's a win-win situation for me.

No, it looks like it will be the last Xbox console before it is finally withdrawn from the market, it is not worth investing in the ecosystem.
