Okay, bear with me guys, this is the first NPD thread I've actively followed in a long time.
Are the 3DS numbers really that bad? It's only tracking a couple mil behind the original DS at the moment, unless I was incorrectly reading that handheld sales chart that was posted a couple pages ago. Considering how drastically the handheld market has changed with smartphones, that at least appears on surface level to be a solid accomplishment. Not to mention that individual game sales for the system's heavy hitters have been healthy. 405 K for a handheld Zelda in only 8 days is pretty damn good given the current market (and I'm responsible for two of those purchases, huzzah!)
I completely understand all of the logistics as to why the Wii U numbers are shockingly awful, but 3DS not so much. Not to mention that the system is still attracting some high-caliber support from third parties. The system seems to be in very good shape overall to me, but I'm very curious as to why so many of you think otherwise.
As much as the Wii U numbers are giving me a sadness in my bones tonight, I feel almost as bad for Tearaway. I've never so much as touched a Vita, but Tearaway looks like a magical cartridge of creativity and unadulterated bliss.
Gaming is in a very sad state for me
Nothing on the top ten is in line with my personal preferences. I'm morbidly fascinated to see what the landscape will look like in half a decade, but I'm also very afraid.
