Meh...
Tides of Annihilation caught my attention, but it seems to be, at least, 1 year away.

No Bloodborne but Days Gone?
Who dafuq asked for Days Gone remaster?

Sony through generations

PS1: here is were 99% of the franchise you like were born also the gold age of JRPG.
PS2 : Powerhouse of third party game and some really good first party.
PS3: Do you like first party games, we have a lot of them.
PS4: Greatness delivered
PS5: Fuck you, we have gass and remaster.

They don't even manage to get the gaas games out of the door. So it'd even worse than you framed it 🤣

CityHunter1981

An Absolute Desaster
They should brand it correctly, it was clearly a partner showcase. Putting one Sony game at the end doesn’t make it a real State of Play.

I am sure they have some good games in the making, but they probably want to save these until summer.

Kojima was trolling again as always about cutting a trailer…

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Rather dull.

Everyone wanted Bloodborne remastered and of course Sony would say naw...

More DEI stuff.

Some of those games could be cool, but not many had a huge interest for me.

I dont hate the Days Gone remastered. Sony may use this as a tentpole to see if there is interest in a sequel.

Where the fuck was this rumored God of War Collection

What happened to the Parasite Eve Remaster/Remake that was rumored? :lollipop_anguish:

Overall I give this like a B-, but normally we don't see first party stuff in a State of Play. A lot of good action games that I'm looking forward to.

Too indifferent to rate.

Giving it a D just because I don’t think it was a complete F. But that’s an hour of my life I’m never going to get back.

Why are we going to get an entire State of Play in Spring dedicated to Borderlands 4? What a complete waste of time and resources.

If it had just been the second half it might have been a C, a short unexciting presentation with a couple of interesting looking games.

But that first half was painful and a massive waste of time

Pretty sure you're an AI plant at this point.

I asked chatgpt

Sony's State of Play on February 12, 2025, showcased a diverse array of titles, including anticipated releases like "Monster Hunter Wilds," "Shinobi: Art of Vengeance," and "Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater." While the event featured several new announcements, it also included updates on previously known games. The presentation's pacing and content may have influenced individual perceptions.

Given the mix of new reveals and updates, along with the inclusion of a CGI trailer for a first-party game without gameplay footage, some viewers might rate the event as a 'C'—indicating a solid but not exceptional showcase. This rating reflects a balanced selection of content that met expectations without significantly exceeding them.

It didn't rate it an A 🤣

Opinions, check yourself in the mirror.

I gave the MS direct an A too. If you think this was worse you’re just an AI (or lack of I) at this point
Lots of thing drag this down from an A in my opinion.

Day Gone Remaster for starters. Game was mid at best why bother? Especially when they didn't even have the faith to green light a sequel.

Nothing from Bungie, again.

Another Big reveal (HM) but likey 18 months 2 years away, and no gameplay.

Nothing from Fairgames, announced ages ago.

Nothing from Wolverine, announced ages ago.

Sure there was a few third party announcements that looked promising but from the Sony side it was disappointing for me personally id give it a C.

It’s not an E3 event, brother. It’s a February state of play.

I don’t see why this is hard to grasp for some.

Sony’s biggest shows are summer/fall/TGAs

I'm giving this one a B+. Actually held my attention throughout and mainly showed me medium to high polish AAA single player games. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of Japanese styled games in the world, I tend to prefer western titles but these guys are going to be delivering some pretty good Playstation hits. It feels like PS1 all over again.

Oh absolutely but all those titles i mentioned have already been announced (well most) would be nice for an update on one at least.

To be honest im just salty, I was certain they would show Marathon and announce a beta for Q2. My fault for listening to the bullshit again.

I like that they just showed games. Some decent ones in there, few and far between, but I thought it was ok. Decent presentation. Hype for Stellar Blade, June!

E+ for me. Damn awful
Yes there was some cool 3rd party stuff, but most the stuff was not new.
And 1 PS studio title game, yes Ill be there day 1 for anything House Marque releases but that show was reveal wise, total shite

Fun fact: After 2018, Sony never delivered an E3-level presentation again and since PS5 release its been just a let down after another.

I swear every single time I say to me it's not worth my time and iam still in to be fucking disappointed again. Like a toxic ex it's insane.

100% there PS5 reveal and FF16 reveal show was decent but the writing was already on the wall, with repeated trailers of Deathloop, Kena, etc and no show showcase for 2021, 2024

Man, I thought this was pretty SOLID.

S - Fucking what?
O - Is this it?
L - I mean, I guess the DLC looks good?
I - Yet ANOTHER pointless remaster?
D - This is what a lack of competition does to a mother fucker

No notes. Can't wait for the next one!

Sony are increasingly dropping the ball this gen. If there were any publishers with a strong slate of upcoming games, married to a few GaaS titles that guarantee revenue, this might be the time for said publisher to enter the hardware market with a compelling offering.

Just a thought.

I gave it a C. No first party except a teaser from Housemarque with zero gameplay. No Marathon. There were no games that really blew my socks off, but here are some that caught my attention:

lost soul aside
borderlands 4
Directive 8020
Darwin = Abe!?!??
Onimusha = Day 1
MGS Delta = DAy 1
Hell is us - looks cool, need more info
Weird music for Lies of P Overture DLC
Tides of Annihilation - Featuring Shadowheart (BG3)
Mindseye looks high quality - no vehicles were harmed in the making of this game
SAROS? HouseMarque!

I thought I was watching the Nintendo direct seeing all these Japanese games running at botched frames

D for me

Only thing I am in on will be Days Gone remaster

Hell is Us is a maybe depending what else launches in that time frame

Saros is a need to know more game before I get too excited about it

FOR ME this gen so far has not been great, across the board for first party titles

Man looking at the spread I feel like I was grading Sony on a curve. Lot of people said F?

I think that's a bit extreme. They had a lot of games...just no heavy hitters.

For me, it's a B+.

The show is stacked with what looks like a LOT of quality-looking singleplayer fare, most of it with dates attached too!

At this point I genuinely don't care about it being 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even 7th party, I just care that the industry is finally healing again.

Meh, hardly anything new that I would play.

Lost Soul Aside, annihilation, stellar blade, Wukong, phantom blade etc are all one game, different wrapper. Not criticising, just it’s the same shit I have played.

That Octopus game was really cool as well as Metal Gear, I have not played the original one so looking forward to it. Also Midnight Walk!

Mindeye was pure slop. Wish GTA5. Saros is cool but I am not a fan of RNG/roguelite games.

Kinda wasted 40 min lol
