the lack of any kind of moral system (I literally loot anything even in front of NPCs without any consequences)
Yeah that’s so weird.
And the Yatzli character said something like:
”- You realize that I can see you going through my backpack, right?”
But nothing happened.
Why not just cancel my action and throw in a cutscene where she smack my head:
”- Don’t touch my stuff!”
???
In my opinion, it is best to just play this as an action game and just ignore the story altogether.
I like the story consequences, I think it’s rewarding to see things go a different way when you put some time into the dialogues. I’ve reloaded and tried different outcomes in some conversations and I’m surprised by the changes.
Still can’t judge if anything is carried all the way up til the end though, but so far I like what I’ve seen.
My score so far is 6/10. Easily Obsidian's weakest RPG yet in my opinion.
Maybe the humor is better in The Outer Worlds I don’t know but the combat and map layout and exploration is leagues ahead in Avowed as far as I’m concerned.
So far, 45 hours and just reached the 3rd area, it’s an 8 or 8.5 for me. Started out as a 7 so for me it’s just getting better the more I play.
I’ve got used to the lack of interactivity. Enemy variety is the biggest letdown right now. And the lack of rewarding loot, they put all the good stuff as quest rewards and mostly leave upgrade parts and regular gear without stat boosts as exploration rewards. Western developers in general need to play more Elden Ring, there are so many things in that game that is industry best that could be easily copied.
